I like 'Ol Smokey Salted Caramel bourbon for sipping, it goes down REALLY smoothly and WAAAY too fast if you let it!! For the bourbon I use in mixed stuff I usually like Canadian Club but any cheap Canadian will do in a pinch. I am not a Rye or Scotch guy, the guy at the liquor store said if you Rye you will probably like Scotch too and vice versa so it makes sense to me.

Oh and I didn't say I was worried after all on Saturday I'm headed part way towards you for Christmas with the grandkids in St Louis, MO. It's a short trip though, they have parties etc to go to after Christmas so we will back home on Wednesday when it will be back in the mid 50's again here and the next day it will be in the 60's!!

For sippin' I love Jack Daniel's Gentleman Jack, it also goes down smooooth...  at least for me.

I never put much stock into what the liquor vendors (i.e. "the guy at the liquor store said") have to say, just what I feel or like.

Enjoy your trip to St. Louis, MO. with your grandkids.  Bring your thermals, in is going to be cold!

Yeah I saw on the weather bug app I use, 16F on Friday and Saturday mornings, my son wants to go snow tubing with the grandkids and my other son, I told them that works for me too but i will sit in the Lodge and watch them do it. I got a new knee in late June so getting up if I fall is not pretty and on snow it could be even worse, that's my excuse anyway....I will be sitting there keeping warm while they work all their extra energy out.

The weather in the US is all

The weather in the US is all over the news here, and being on another continent, that tells me how bad it got. I heard there were power outages too. That is a terrible combination. I hope everyone is staying safe!

The people paying the most for it is the homeless population, and yes the US has a large one, some places worse than others, and there are only so many places you can put them when it gets this cold so alot of them will have to endure it.

That is bad. But the same

That is bad. But the same problem the world over once the temperature drops, I fear. In a way, the death toll is limited given the number of homeless people overall. Bless them.
