I think Mikey is just confused about the Eng Sample designation.
Tom has an OLD ES. Not a brand new one. Very often ES chips make their way out into the wild after retail chips have been released. Sometimes they have bugs or defects or slightly different features than the retail chips and are usually a bit cheaper on the second hand market. That’s usually why people buy them, cheaper.

I was looking at the discussion about Win11 on Arm CPU. It looks as if a stock x86 task would execute (more slowly) on it until a native windows/arm app could be compiled.
So would it save that much energy? In the Arm version of the app?

If you are having this problem the only solutions appear to be
Throw a lot more money at more expensive hardware.
Move to Workstation class hardware.
Repurpose Server hardware.
Use hardware like the Threadripper Pro.
Use systems not labeled as HEDT for HEDT projects.
Ryzen 5950x
Ryzen 7950x
Intel equivalents
Call up a hardware hacker.

There are only a few motherboards that will support three dual-slot wide cards and none of them are on the 670E platform. They are only on the down market 670 platform.
But the issue is that the bottom slot is only fed off the chipset and the widest PCI bandwidth is X2. Not a concern I guess if you were still rocking a PC based crypto miner but not appropriate for BOINC crunching.
To get proper 3 cards support now is to stick with X470/X570 motherboards and/or move to proper HEDT workstation class platfrom like Threadripper Pro.
Some exciting news for the students at our school- we secured funding for some additional workstations. We are focusing most of the funding on CPU compute and then will purchase higher-end GPUs for them as (if) we secure additional funding.
The workstations will be for student usage and workshops related to coding/comp sci. When not being used by students, they will be crunching for WCG and then E@H (when WCG is not sending tasks).
Although we do not have them yet, I can provide some details and you all will be able to read between the lines. Keep in mind, we HAVE to used approved vendors for our workstations (donated items are a different story) so the options are somewhat limited. There should be 3 OEM workstations and then 2 made through donated parts.
That being said, we will "professionally be ripping A LOT of threads" very soon.

I was surprised the tester using Einstein to test the new, not yet released cpu. Normally I've seen testers use Milkyway@home project for testing.
The one here with the new Ryzen 7000 TR chip only did gpu work. Would have been more interesting if they had done some cpu work.

In another thread, Keith mentioned that the newest generation (socket Am5) Ryzen systems don't (yet) offer slots for 3 gpus on the motherboard.
And on a related note, some wondered where HEDTs have gone?
Here is a blog post on the subject.

Can you wait, and/or change the order to 4th gen EPYC?
