My advice. Don’t do it. You have a working system, don’t mess with it and drop the CPU into the socket again.

I get that.  I now have two more new trays.  As well as I am now sensitive to if the picture doesn't have a tray.  I dropped that CPU because it kept popping out of what turned out to be a broken tray.

As long as I buy it already installed in a tray/caddy I am probably "ok".

I am trolling for at least a 16c/32t Rome CPU if I can find a new/open box from the USA that is within my price constraints.  Ideally, I would love to have a 32c/64t Rome CPU. And if the above would take a $500 offer I would be tempted unless there is no way to get around having a bad memory channel slow the CPU down.

Have you ever heard of aliexpress dot com? If not look at it, it got ALOT of stuff, and may just have your parts BUT shipping can up to a month or more, I have found things there that I can't get on amazon etc.

I mistook the URL for Alibaba dot com

I have now just browsed a bit.

The mobile website has the same issue I have with Amazon. It has a scattergun results.

If I put in Epyc CPU I get maybe 1 percent CPU results.

I even tried Epyc CPU 7702

Same problem. Selection is giant. Ability to shop for what I am looking for is really awful.

I agree with you and often find things like a dual fan gpu cooler that runs in the pc slot next to the gpu card blowing air onto the gpu card by changing the search terms and then just scrolling and seeing what comes up. On thing you might try is by searching for the mobo model first then a cpu that fits it, or even a 32core/64thread cpu itself.

In fact try this search:

https://www.aliexpress.com/premium/32core%252F64thread-cpu.html?d=y&origin=y&catId=0&initiative_id=SB_20220704154156&SearchText=32core/64thread%20cpu&spm=a2g0o.home.1000002.0 if you scroll down a bit a bunch of EPYC cpu's come up

I also found this which may or may not be what you are looking for:

AMD EPYC CPU 7601 2.20GHz, 32C/64T, 64M cache (180W) DDR4-2666 32Cores 64threads Socket SP3 Processor LGA4094 3.2 GHz Overclock

US $404.00

Just saw for listings for brand new Ryzen 3950x's for $499 to less than that. Buy it now or best offer prices. eBay.

I ask **Why** considering another 3950X when a 5950X sells NEW for the same $499 price from a proper legit vendor like Amazon or Newegg.com. eBay should be a last resort vendor.

Installs into the same motherboard that your 3950X inhabits.

Fumble fingers.  I meant 5950x....  4 new ones listed.
