Conversations about our setups ... Hmmm, well lately the last thing I did here was to put an SSD drive in my main crunching PC for this project. It won't speed it up but I have a couple of SSDs being bumped in favor of M.2 drives I recently purchased for other PCs. So, I needed to clone the Linux install with my project progress onto the SSD. I had been cloning Linux using Clonezilla. However, it won't easily go from a large drive to a smaller one even if the amount of data on the larger drive will easily fit on the smaller one (1 TB to 500 GB).
However, I was able to do it using GParted Live booted from a USB stick. I easily just copied the partitions almost as easily as copying files, to the SSD from the platter drive. The results were perfect - as if I never touched the computer, which is very good.
I told all my friends I could teach them how to be funny, but they all just started laughing at me.
Try EPYC-Fireball after my favorite futuristic Gerry Anderson TV series from the early 1960's : Fireball XL5
{ this was before Thunderbirds }
Cheers, Mike.
Mike,
I think I remember that show. Was it made with pupets? And had a really fast "car"?
Thank you for the idea.

Just invoke the fundamental law of nature. (I can never remember whether it's Murphy's Law or Sod's Law.)
You know, the one that says -
Whatever resounding declaration you make ... the exact opposite is bound to happen. :-)
Yeah, got it in one (or two, or three ;)
I have decided to rename my baseline GPU server from "Moonshot" to "x570-Gpu-Server".
This is "aspirational" in that it is currently running on a b450-f MB not a x570 MB :) But it is "up" with all three Rtx 3080 ti's installed and a Rtx 3080 waiting for the EPYC MB.
I am still pondering over what I might want to rename my EPYC system the next time I get another MB back from New Egg. (Shipped it via New Egg return, UPS, this morning).
I like the "Fireball" name. I am tired of "Moonshot" which predicts it will probably fail. Like it has.

That was Supercar which was produced around the same time.
Cheers, Mike.
One of the images I still remember from "Supercar" was when they had to use their most extreme fuel. A significant portion of the time the puppet making the stuff ended up with a char coaled face.
