Amazing.  I finally got

Amazing.  I finally got access to the E@H messages website.

A replacement EPYC MB is on its way back from NewEgg.

I (finally) got the GPU cruncher switched back to GR$1 tasks but it will be a while before it actually asks for any.  The GW OS3 and MilkyWay GPU tasks probably all have to clear out first.

I am making preparation to move back to a 4 GPU cruncher maybe next Saturday assuming my non-epyc MB is still crunching data error free by then.  Otherwise it will be the EPYC.

Mikey, were those the test beta tasks or the new production run tasks.

If I remember correctly, the test trial setup tasks were not as demanding of gpu VRAM because they were not really doing any proper machine learning. They were just being used to figure out the correct packaging of the app and tasks.

Thanks Keith!!

I mean it’s kind of weird that Peter created a new account under a new name. Did your other one get the ban hammer?

You'll notice other projects ignore that rule.

The problem is you CAN be tracked thru your use of the gpu's here there and everywhere, do you go on Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, Google, Firefox, MS Edge etc ETC? If so ALL of them KNOW what gpu you have in your pc and can track you as you go from place to place and then sell the info that user X is visiting this site, that site and those sites too. MOST stats stats sites don't track YOU as a name or individual other than how it compares to the whole. Now FaceBook DOES do that and DOES track you as an individual from here there and everywhere, they will even track your pc and your credit card to porn sites if you use them, FB is the single largest payer of pop-ups on porn sites which track users. Zuckerpud didn't become as rich as he is by not capturing EVERYTHING and ANYTHING it can, they have stats of FB even tracking your pc thru several non FB sites even after you have signed off of FB, it also scrapes your browser history everytime you connect to it.

GPDR is a European Law and all major companies have been whacked by HUGE fines for violations of it, therefore places like Einstein who have stuff in Europe MUST comply with the Law or be put out of business. The Laws default is to NOT allow your data to be tracked, therefore you ARE correct that 'you were never asked' if you want to or not, you must click the box to allow the data to be shared otherwise they may NOT share it!!

I have my EPYC system back

I have my EPYC system back online.  Right now it could either turn back into the GPU Server or it might get setup as a cpu server with two gtx 1080's to keep it company.

The gpu server's name is "EPYC-Moonshot".

What should an EPYC cpu server with two gtx 1080's be called?  I am assuming that I will upgrade the cpu to a 2nd gen EPYC CPU.  My hopes are on a 7702 (64c/128t) but that would be quite a ways out.  There are some opportunities for some slower 32c/64t cpus as well as 16c/32t cpus and the baseline cpu:  7402p

Ideas include so far:

  • EPYC-Adventurer
  • EPYC-NewMoon
  • EPYC-Future
  • EPYC-Cat   ? in honor of my Cat?
  • EPYC-Story

Any more ideas?

What is your cat's name?  You could call it that.
