I came across this thread at

I came across this thread at milkyway@home that describes how to configure boinc to run multiple WUs per gpu. Would that work on this application?

Thanks,

Neal

yes. this is a BOINC

yes. this is a BOINC function, not specific to any project so it will work.

you just need to adjust the application name in the file then drop the app_config.xml file in the einstein project folder.

Thanks for your reply. What I

Thanks for your reply. What I would really like to know is whether this technique would improve gpu utilization on this application. I have had this application disabled, because the credit rate is much lower than the pulsar app.

yes it will increase GPU

yes it will increase GPU utilization.

but won't increase productivity to the point that it would be competitive with gamma ray tasks in terms of credit reward.

Has this app changed

Has this app changed recently? The reason I ask is since it came out I was getting1 to 2% invalid rate. The last few days I noticed that dropping. Today I saw I had no invalid results on either host. Was I just lucky or has the project done something that works better on Nvidea GPUs?

Since invalids are caused by your wingman getting a slightly different result it is most likely a run of wingpersons computer that are calculating the same as your computer.

Tom, 2 days in a row now

Tom, 2 days in a row now without an invalid, if that is just luck of the draw i feel that is most unlikely.

the app hasn't changed since August 2021.

they may have however changed the sensitivity of the validator to tolerate a bit larger difference in results, which would reduce the invalids.

Actually we found a bug in

Actually we found a bug in the validator that so far has evaded our testing, and fixed it. Sorry for the unnecessary invalids.
