For what it's worth... I'm only running GPU O3AS and haven't noticed any upload problems on my end.

Since mmonnin didn't respond,

Since mmonnin didn't respond, it's probably safe to assume that there wasn't a widespread upload problem.

It would have been nice to know what he ended up doing to solve the issue.

Cheers,
Gary.

Each PC was getting 12 tasks no matter the speed or GPU count.

Sounds like the server is doing what it always does if you don't properly remove allocated work.  Resetting the project doesn't remove what has already been allocated.  You need to abort it first and make sure that work you don't want is properly reported before you reset a project.

The other thing to check also is that you don't have the setting for 'Allow non-preferred apps' set to 'yes' for the location a particular host is assigned to.

EDIT:  I was about to set up a host to run O3AS work to check if there really is a widespread upload problem.  I haven't started running any of this yet so don't know the situation.  I'm surprised that a lot more people aren't complaining if this is truly widespread.  This is a serious issue (being a weekend) since it doesn't take long for stuck uploads to destroy new work fetch and completely jam up a system.

Are you sure it's not something to do with your ISP for example?

It took many, many updates to finally pick up the updated preferences and not send that junk. I had different number of tasks per host but was only getting 12 back, not the original amount. Reset was not the 1st attempt at getting rid of these 03 tasks but was still getting them.

"The other thing to check also is that you don't have the setting for 'Allow non-preferred apps'"
I never have that on except when E@H doesn't list new apps for some reason. Not in this case.

I run many projects, not just E@H. This project was the only one not uploading. It wasn't my ISP but a very long delay using the set preferences.

For the last several days my host with 2 3GB GTX1060s has not received any O3 GPU GWs and only 1 O2. Previously it ran them mostly. My other host with a GTX1660s is loaded with them. Is that card being currently being excluded for O3s by the project?

After all these months why is this app still being run on beta?

There are a lot of BETA

There are a lot of BETA applications that date back to August of 2021 and then there is

1.22 (FGRPopencl1K-nvidia) (beta test)  dates back to 8 May 2019

Since like many sites much of the work is not earth shaking or glamorous maintenance like converting a BETA apps to main stream once they are validated just falls by the wayside.

If your app is "being run on beta" why don't you upgrade your system so that it's no longer "beta" :-).

Alternatively, if you really mean that you're running a beta app, maybe you should just check the description on the applications page.  There is no mention of 'beta' for any of the O3AS apps listed there.  Your completed tasks report they are using the app exactly as listed on that page so I'm not sure why you think otherwise??

Cheers,
Gary.

This topic relates to the O3AS gravitational wave applications, none of which are listed as 'beta'.  You seem to be talking about gamma ray pulsar apps which is an entirely different matter.

In any case, if an app works and gives correct results, what does it matter if it still has a 'beta' label?  Maybe there's ongoing development that might eventually culminate in a further round of testing before final release?

Gary.

Gary You are correct none

Gary

You are correct none of the BETA app's are under the GW 03AS group.

The BETA applications are under these groups...

Gamma-ray pulsar binary search #1 on GPUs (FGRPB1G)

Binary Radio Pulsar Search (Arecibo, GPU) (BRP4G)

Binary Radio Pulsar Search (Arecibo) (BRP4)
