My grandfather first let me try JD as well as Southern Comfort when I was younger, It is an aquired taste.

Sorry for the radio silence,

Sorry for the radio silence, hope everyone is well. I am recuperating from the damage from the recent storms. One of the trees in my garden took a tumble and tore down the fence and part of a brick divider wall. Luckily my neighbours and their cat were inside as it smashed right into their garden. Very unpleasant business.

@DR WHO FAN interesting read, thanks! Although I think it looks like a beautiful thing (even if it's worth more than my friggin house) and curious what it'll taste like, I am not sure it would be worth it. The saying "pearls before swines" comes to mind...

@GWGEORGE007 No and I am an idiot! I waited to long and now it sold out locally. I am waiting for it to be in stock again (prefer to by from my local store) but to already give the JD a try, I went for a bottle of Green Label. And I must say, I quite like it. It's very smooth.

Also, if you can get your hands on a bottle, I highly recommend Penderyn Madeira. It's a Scotch single malt that is surprisingly smooth and gets a very distinct sweet tone from the Madeira vats it has aged in.

If I ever make it to the

If I ever make it to the States, I'll buy whoever lives in Florida a Scotch. Well, you don't have to live in Florida, of course, but that's where I've been planning to go and it seems an awfully long drive for a Scotch otherwise.

Or a beer or any other

Or a beer or any other beverage of your liking :)

And in case anyone was wondering: There are many parts of the US that I think are beautiful and warrant a visit (nature-wise the states of Washington and Oregon are particular favourites of mine) but Florida has to be first. My late father and I have always been enormous space buffs and we were glued to the screen for every shuttle launch. And being able to witness a launch live would be a lifelong dream come true. So there's that.

Have a great day everyone!

Doesn't the ESA launch stuff every once in a while too? That might be alot closer than going to Florida.
