Once upon a time the board

Once upon a time the board leader system was (I think) an i9-9900k (reporting 128 CPUs) and cranking out around 8,000,000 RAC.

Now the leader is an E5-2667 v3 with 32 cores and cranking out 5,000,000+ RAC.

Apparently, I missed a changeover in hardware?

Ian&Steve. Are you going

Ian&Steve.

Are you going to switch this system back over to GW now that they are validating?

That system is now back on my prime project, GPUGRID, since they started pushing work again.

these new GPUGRID tasks are a doozie.

~10hrs on a 2080ti

~17hrs on a 2070

~27hrs on a 1660Super

the only thing still crunching Einstein is my RTX 3070, since GPUGRID isnt compatible with Ampere yet.

It looks like my 5 gpu (one gpu is offline waiting for me to troubleshoot errors) Rx 570/Rx580 system that is devoted to running Gravity Wave gpu tasks has topped out at a little over 400,000 for its RAC.

I have two things I can toggle.

1) Troubleshoot and get the 6th gpu back online.

2) Switch the bios switch on each gpu (these are all XFX models) from performance to quiet (aka: mining mode).

It has been busy so I haven't gotten around to #1 which will be more time consuming.

It looks like this system is on track to top a Rac of 5,000,000 while processing Gamma Ray GPU tasks.

Just ran into this message

Just ran into this message (again).

3/5/2021 9:58:36 AM | Einstein@Home | (reached daily quota of 1728 tasks)

By my guesstimate, my system should "poop out" at someplace above 5,000,000 RAC which is still below the RAC 1728 GPU tasks could generate.

I understand how to use the "<ncpus>32</ncpus>" parameter.

I am not convinced I actually need to bump my apparent CPU count above the native 16.

Agree/Disagree/Wait for more information (eg. what level does the RAC actually flatten out at)?

You can run more than 1

You can run more than 1 client. Each client will run a task and have their own daily quota. I did this on MW with my Radeon VII just to keep tasks flowing.

Thank you Mmonnin.  I am trying to run one instance so that the system RAC represents (roughly) the production of the system.

After my system chewed through the

in less than 24 hours.  And switched to the backup project I changed the "cpu" count to 24.

<ncpus>24</ncpus>

in CC_CONFIG.XML options.

While I could have bounced it to 32 or higher I have the urge to minimize the overstatement of the CPU count. Maybe 24 will be enough.

This system is running 6

This system is running 6 Radeon VII's.  I wonder what Mother Board he is running with his

GenuineIntel Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-9900X CPU @ 3.50GHz [Family 6 Model 85 Stepping 4]

the CPU is LGA2066, so you know it's an X299 motherboard

there are 6 GPUs so it's a board that likely has at least 6 PCIe slots (assuming no m.2 adapters)

so probably one of these: https://www.newegg.com/p/pl?N=100007627%20600307108%20601299335

if he's using M.2 adapters or slot bifurcation, then it could be just about any X299 board
