Who in here is getting 100%

Who in here is getting 100% GPU usage with GW, 1 WU per GPU?  What GPU and CPU do you have?  I've never found a combination that gets anywhere near full usage, now that I can only run 1 WU at a time as they're so large in GPU RAM requirements.  Since they only use 1 CPU core to assist, that never seems to be enough to keep up with the GPU.

The GW gpu tasks normally run

The GW gpu tasks normally run singly with about 79-83% utilization on my hosts. Not 100% but a good percentage.

What CPU and GPU do you have?  Even on my host with a decent CPU (i5 8600K) and a rubbish GPU (Radeon RX 560), the CPU cannot keep up - 100% of a core used and only 70% of the GPU.

Looking at your highest ranked machine, https://einsteinathome.org/host/12291110 it should be worse than mine, the CPU is only a little faster per core, but your graphics cards is over 3 times faster.

Unless there's something else involved here, like certain GPUs doing more of the work?

I have a Ryzen 7 3800X, 4

I have a Ryzen 7 3800X, 4 LATeah tasks and 2 concurrent GW tasks at once running. Today, GPU load is very high, between 70 and 90%. VRAM is also unusually high and currently at around 80%.

Stopping the LATeah tasks do not help, a core can only go at 4.3 Ghz at max. With the setting above I have on all cores, which are in use, around 4.1 GHz.

GPU is a Radeon 5700XT with 8GB.

The problem I have is running one single GW at a time (which I have to do since they can take up to 3.5GB of GPU RAM each).  Thus one CPU core can't keep up with the whole card.  Your GPU is 8GB which lets you run two at a time.  Mine only has 4GB :-(

Oh well, I'll stick with Gamma tasks until such time as I have a better combination of hardware.

You can see the host details

You can see the host details in the link you posted.  Threadripper 2920X running at 4.1Ghz with 32GB of memory running at 3466Mhz at CL14 latency.  The cards are a 1080Ti and 2080 water cooled and two 2070's air-cooled.

Are you making the very common mistake of not using the correct utilization window parameter in Windows Task Manager?  Right click the uilization window and choose the CUDA visualization.

Also running Ubuntu which can be a little faster than Windows in some cases.  I also run my cards at their correct P0 memory clocks without the Nvidia driver penalty for running compute loads on consumer cards.

I have AMD cards, so no CUDA (maybe that's the problem? CUDA uses lesss CPU?).  And I don't use Windows Task manager to check usage, I use MSI Afterburner.  It has a nice graph of GPU usage, which works well, I can get it up to 98-100% normally, but not with GW.

I've not overclocked anything.

P.S. your sig is not working right, it's now a link instead of an image.

I didn't know if Windows Task

I didn't know if Windows Task Manager defaults to the graphics visualization for AMD cards like it does for Nvidia.  Just assumed you have to shift the visualization to the compute load.  This is a common complaint in posts in the forums from confused users who assume the card utilization is very low because that is the default setting in Task Manager.  A simple fix if you know about the right click menu option to change the focus to compute load.

That sig broke a while back and I can't get it working so will just remove any signature for a cleaner post.

I have no idea where to find this.  Task manager reported stupidly low (as in 5% instead of 95%) usage in GPUs, so I don't use it.  MSI Afterburner (or GPU-Z) is far more accurate.  Another MS failure.  I checked it just now and it seems to be correct, but that's because I'm playing a game, I guess they didn't think to include computing in usage.  Doh!

I have no idea where to find this.

Right click on the desktop, left click Task Manager, it's near the bottom, then right click and put the mouse on the word View and then different things will show up on the  next menu.
