Welcome to TLPTPW nombro 59!

1. To participate in the game, you must post to the prescribed thread.

2. A post must consist of at least one word.

3. A participant may not have two or more consecutive posts in the thread.

4. The winner of an episode is responsible for organizing the next episode and for choosing the winner of that episode.

5. The winner may be chosen on the basis of the date/time of the post, the number of the post in the thread (50th post; 31415th post; ...), the presence/absence of a particular word/phrase in the post, or any other reason selected by the organizer of the episode. However, the organizer of an episode is prohibited from winning that particular episode. All decisions are final, pretty much.

6. Have fun!

7. Good luck & post, post, post.

Ideas are not fixed, nor should they be; we live in model-dependent reality.

It looks like everyone on this continent is melting away in the heat.

The East Coast should get a break tomorrow or Wednesday but then the West Coast starts warming up about then too so I guess we have another round of it coming. Even the normally not too crowded beaches are packed right now with alot of people hanging out right at the waters edge.

I know I was sweating away in

I know I was sweating away in the heat.  The A/C went out late last week and had to be replaced with a new one.  OUCH$!!  No more R22 refrigerant.  Will be totally outlawed by the early part of next year.  There is now a more environmental friendly refrigerant but not inter changeable with old A/C units.  Do I get a kiss?

You should have kissed the a/c guy before he handed you the bill as maybe he would have charged you less, that isn't cheap!!! I have 1 heat pump for the house and 2 mini-split systems that only do a/c for my computer room, the mini splits run 24/7 365 and I'm dreading their replacements, they are only 2 1/2 years old so should be okay for awhile yet.

Can't really complain.  The old unit lasted 14 years and I live about 1.5 miles from the beach.

That's very good I'm about the same distance from the ocean too so am hopeful. Mine are between the houses and there's a decent wind going thru most of the time, I hose them off about once a week when the sand is blowing and once a month when it's not. I also have the a/c guys come twice a year to service them so hopefully mine will last that long too.

The condos on the ocean/dune line replace their units almost yearly so no need to buy the best.

Hosing the units off is a good idea, especially when living close to the ocean.   Hope you get the longevity out of your units you want.
