@Mike - I had to look this

@Mike - I had to look this up.

Paranoid schizophrenia manifests itself in an array of symptoms. Common symptoms for paranoid schizophrenia include auditory hallucinations (hearing voices) and paranoid delusions (believing everyone is out to cause the sufferer harm). One criterion for separating paranoid schizophrenia from other types is delusion.

A delusion is a belief that is held strong even when the evidence shows otherwise. Some common delusions associated with paranoid schizophrenia include, believing that the government is monitoring every move you make, or that a co-worker is poisoning your lunch. In all but rare cases, these beliefs are irrational, and can cause the person holding them to behave abnormally. Another frequent type of delusion is a delusion of grandeur, or the “fixed, false belief that one possesses superior qualities such as genius, fame, omnipotence, or wealth." Common ones include, “the belief that you can fly, that you're famous, or that you have a relationship with a famous person."

Well I don't think everyone is out to get me, only some people some of the time :-))

@Johnathan -  I think the answer must be when you perceive that you are out of step with the majority of others opinions maybe.  But that can vary with the group of people that you converse with. or indeed the age groups of people. e.g. If at my age and centre-right, I went to chat to a group of left wing teenagers, I'd likely be laughed out the room and told I was off my head and go take a realism pill. If I went to chat to a similar age group as me and also centre-right, I'd likely get told quite right, we all think the same as well.

But if simply everyone everywhere told you that you were wrong, you might think hang on a minute, what's going on? The big mistake to make I think is to take too much notice of opinions on bulletin boards. There are many reasons people use them, and far and away the biggest seems to me to be people that have a need to interact with fellow human beings in a way that they find difficult to manage in face to face real life.

I said 7 years ago that someone somewhere would get a first class PhD writing a thesis upon bulletin board use, and the people using them. I still think I'm right. Maybe someone has?

So if the majority says the

So if the majority says the Earth is flat then you are a true psychopath if you say it is round? That can't be right?

But the majority do not say

But the majority do not say that the earth is flat, and there is plenty of scientific evidence that confirms it is a slightly flattened globe. Those that continue to assert it is flat are simply derided by the majority.

Well you learn something new

Well you learn something new everyday.

The runway, designed as an emergency landing strip for the Space Shuttle, is maintained by the US military.

It used to be one of the longest in the world but now badly needs maintenance, and while there's a plan to have the tarmac repaired by 2020, the Airbus A330 Voyager aircraft the RAF uses to land on the island is no longer suitable.

It is a British overseas Territory so why does the USA have to muscle in, where is the MOD?

How old are you guys? I still have multiple decades to go before retirement, and by then the age to retire will probably be moved up another decade.

I am quite happy to state

I am quite happy to state that I was born as an "official war baby" in 1944 and I am 72 years old. So how old are you then?
