Try this for a vantage point ( not rare but uncommon ) : an elderly couple of mine told me the good news that 10 days ago one of their grandchildren had a grandchild. Yes, they are great-great-grand-parents. All well. New Years with five generations in the room .... epic ! :-)
Cheers, Mike.
I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...

My friend was 22 when he had a daughter, she had her first kid at 16 and my friend was 38, that daughter had a kid at 16 also, my friend was a great grand pa at 54. That daughter had a kid at 16 also and my friend became a great great grand pa at 70! NOT ONE of the daughters was married when they had their first kid, but by the time they had their 2nd one they were all married. They did a family get together two Christmas's ago and there were over 35 people in the picture with some carrying babies!! The very first daughter was a grand ma at 32 and a great great grand ma at 48!! She went on to have 7 kids in all, each of which now has several kids and MOST had them early in life with 16 being the youngest age to have a kid and 19 being the oldest! She got her tubes tied to prevent herself from having more kids as it seemed every time she was with a guy she got pregnant!! She had all 7 of her kids prior to being 26 years old, that's 7 kids in 10 years, all of which have different fathers!! She did hold down a job during most of those years too, in the early years she finished college with a bachelors degree, so no stereotypical deadbeat mom scenario either. For several years she was a baggage handler for an airline being the person that was inside the plane loading the luggage. She had to quit because the plane got hit by a truck while she was inside loading luggage and the bags fell on her and hurt her back. She got some disability from that but now has another job as a mental health pro at the local middle schools. She had to go back to college to get her Masters degree for that, which she did in 3 years.

My cousin has a Great great great granddaughter who's at university.
Back around 1976 I was at Moms house and this one day I was in the room with 5 generations on Moms side of the family.
Great-grandmother,grandmother,Mom,my sister and her newly born daughter.
The only one that lived long was my grandmother who made it past 80 but Mom and Great-grandmother both passed at 69 years old (and my sister in a car wreck when she was 29) her 2 daughters are still around and in their 30's but I never see them.
BUT on Dads side 4 generations have only been together ONE time as far back as I can check (400 years)
My grandfather (born 1899) my Dad, me, and my son (Christmas 1982) who was born in 1982.......grandfather died a few months later and my Dad last April.......my great-grandfather on Dads side was born in 1852 and died in 1926 so neither me or my Dad ever saw him..........can't go back any farther on Moms side than 1907 but on Dads side I can go back over 400 years (and being the computer mad scientist I am the only one in my family that even knows any of this)
And this may be the end of my direct family name since my Mom changed mine to a step-dads name when I was 8 and my son has that same name and he thinks every day is a party at the local bars and casinos.
On another Einstein note.......YIPPY I finally got my #7 computer working again so now I just have to d/l everything again and maybe a new GPU card (if my old spare 550Ti won't work) and I get it back on the dsl to do the 150 Windows 7 updates (it was Win 10 when it croaked about a year ago and since I have the Win7 disc.......)
Have a fine weekend everyone........I will be watching the NFL Wildcard games (since I do the picks all the time)
..........can't go back any farther on Moms side than 1907 but on Dads side I can go back over 400 years (and being the computer mad scientist I am the only one in my family that even knows any of this)
I too do genealogy on my family, small World!!
