Clicking on the 'My Account'

Clicking on the 'Your Account' link at the bottom of the 'Server Status' or 'Applications' pages result in a 'Page not found error' for me.

Well, I don't know what was

Well, I don't know what was the driving force behind this change in the home page format. I for one enjoyed the old layout. I was able to find everything I wanted to see. I can't find a damn thing in this layout! In fact, I don't even know how I found this comment page!!! I've been crunching this program since 2005 ( and 6 or 7 others )and have never found any change so useless. Maybe I've missed a post that says disconnect and reconnect for the world of boinc and Einstein to be alive and well again. If not this new setup is REDICULUS! Pick

I found it. Actually it is

I found it.

Actually it is  Account > Preferences > Community > Forum Settings

I think the previous technique was better because sometimes you want to see oldest at the top - sometimes newest at the top. It used to be one or two "clicks". Now it is many.

Blue links on silver/grey

Blue links on silver/grey don't look good, and is often quite unreadable without manually selecting it. I also saw a "message box" at the top of the page that had a similar contrast problem.

Clarifying something I said

Clarifying something I said earlier:  Bringing up the main page (http://einsteinathome.org) will log you out, no matter the time since you last logged in.  Really REALLY annoying to have to keep logging in to do anything.

Additionally, I would like to put in a request for a dark version of the site, because this white background is insanely bright (and I'm sure others who are light sensitive will find the exact same thing)

When composing a PM user

When composing a PM user names are used instead of Project ID. When there are others users with the same name it is not possible to identify which one is the desired user.
With my user name the options are:
HAL9000
HAL9000_2
HAL9000_3
hal9000_4
HAL9000_5
HAL9000_6
hal9000_7
Via trial and error I know which one is me, but it isn't the most user friendly. Perhaps Username (ID#) could be displayed instead.

You can indirectly get the

You can indirectly get the ID# by clicking on the user's account link eg. click on mine "Mike Hewson" takes you to https://einsteinathome.org/en-gb/account/19604, correctly hinting that 19604 is my project ID. In fact I think the original intent of 'SEND MESSAGE' under a user's identification ( as displayed in a Forum ) was to obviate the need to do that look up : it just composes the message ( but awaiting content ) for that target. HTH

Cheers, Mike.

NB. While I can send myself a message, I can't ignore myself ! :-)))

I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...

... and my other CPU is a Ryzen 5950X :-) Blaise Pascal

How can I tell if the news item is read-only? To give some examples, I can't comment on Welcome! or Important: website downtime/relaunch next week! but can comment on UWM networking maintenance.

There's either a "post new comment" box or there isn't Smile

How do you "bring up" that page? Your old session will remain as long you don't change the URL (schema and domain).
