Has anyone had experience with this card running Einstein or other boinc projects on it. It has a very fast rated single precision Gflops - 8200. And the TDP is only 175 watts. The card costs $500 and is pricey.
Any info may be helpful. I've already read the problems with running 2wu with the r9 Fury(X). Thanks

I'm running an R9 Nano as we speak. I bought it
within the last couple weeks and, it is running Great !
It shows up in the computer details as an AMD Fiji.
If I left it run and quit interrupting it (playing games)
I estimate it would do about 170K Rac
Crunching One work unit at a time (same deal )
It Should run fine on a i7 920 (I would think )
also: I think it will only work with a 64bit OS.
It Should be faster than an Nvidia GT 980 (not Ti) which costs
about the same. (not positive )

You say 170K RAC. Do you mean 170,000 points for the day using the 4400 point pulsars? That would only give you 17,000 RAC otherwise you would need to rack up 1,700,000 points per day to get a 170,000 RAC. Unless I'm totally confused.

The RAC is NOT cut by 10% as you suggested in your post, if for example your gpu gets 170,000 credits per workunit and only does one workunit per day then your RAC would be 170,000. Now it's true that it would take a week or so to stabilize there but RAC is like a speedometer, it's how fast you are crunching right now. But unlike a speedometer, they are math folks doing the programming, they do take into account yesterdays RAC and the day before thats RAC etc, etc to come up with a number. Todays numbers are MORE important than yesterdays numbers, which are more important than the day befores numbers etc, etc. That's why when you stop crunching it takes a while for your RAC to wind down to zero and when you start up again it winds up pretty quickly.
That is why the Project Bitcoin Utopia catches ALOT of flak, they give ALOT of credits per workunit, so everyones RAC is sky high!! AND why you should ONLY compare your RAC to others at the SAME project, not across projects.

Yes I understand that now. I misspoke earlier. But how would I convert Bill's 170,000 RAC into points per day because I only work with how many points a given host will produce PER DAY. There must be some conversion factor that can be used if you assume that I will produce the same x points per day for say more than 90 days.

The Fiji host is running a high spec i7 so and i would guess a PCIe3.0 mobo (the mobo below is 2.0) so i would expect that a slightly faster system (**1). That host is finishing BRP6 tasks every 2215 sec so RAC should eventually rise to (24 hours a day running one task at a time and no other tasks etc)
Seconds per day / seconds per task * Credit per task
In this case
24×3600/2215×4400 = 171000 approx.
shame 2xWU can't be run.
**1 interesting side note Bill has two systems - the other much older CPU the same tasks use a *lot* less CPU time per task, (but elapsed time is much higher) which just shows how you can not compare CPU times between different OS / CPUs.

It is designed to reflect "Recent Average", so a yesterday's results are more important than last weeks or last years. I seem to recall 28 days being mentioned.
