Well a friend of mine's son is studying architecture and the industry is already looking into the possibilities 3D printing holds for building - so someone is imagining it, robl :)
Jay Leno also drove a 3D printed CAR lately on one of his shows!! It worked just fine, it has very high hp to weight ratio so goes like stink!! And yes it's street legal.
Leno also fabricates discontinued parts for many of his steam engines using 3d printing techniques. Heck, if you can draw it you can print it. Right!?
I thought Washington was like Colorado and just went straight for recreational marijuana.
Here in Illinois, we have just started with medical mj, with MUCH stricter regulations than California. Furthermore, the manufacturers are doing a lot of research and development, so people can get the medicinal benefits without the nasty act of smoking it and, I believe, without the intoxication (I could be wrong on that).
In other news, I have finally settled on a target for this thread. It's rather high, so I may start working on clues to help you guess it early.

Probably yes eventually, it may be pretty hard to print a fully flyable 3d jet fighter airplane right now, but I'm sure some of the parts could be done with no problem.
Good morning everyone, some of us are STILL here so no turning the lights out yet!!

This page gives examples of what is being "printed" with high end 3d printers (stainless steel, brass, gold, titanium, etc). So yes you can print the parts for a jet fighter. Until I needed a "part" 3d printing was just a toy. I had not really full understood how far it has come. A$$uming the right printer.
[EDIT] Staples is now offering 3d printing in some of their retail stores. Take your design to them and they will print it for you in PLA or ABS. I don't think they have the equipment for metal. There are online services for metallic prints.

3D printing is almost getting to the stage of Star Trek replicators. A computer controlled database of 3D plans of every object you can imagine, and a voice controlled bit of kit the size of a microwave.
Haven't quite got to the stage of Captain Picard and "Earl Grey, hot" just yet, but they are working on it!
Waiting for Godot & salvation :-)
Why do doctors have to practice?
You'd think they'd have got it right by now
If someone could 3D Print me the following, that would be AWESOME!!!
1.) A working 1973 Mercury Cougar XR-7; from the original Oct 1972 production line, Hardtop, with Air Conditioning, Ginger Vinyl Top - FULL Top, matching Ginger interior, Wimbledon White Exterior, 351 Cleveland 2bbl, FMX Automatic Transmission, and Philco AM Radio.
VIN Style: 3F93H5xxxxx (Full Vin: 3F93H514470)
(I'm sure Ford still carries the blueprints to this car, engine, and trans...)

SK Airforce 3D-printing fighter parts
There some online portals send your 3D object and they will 3D print it. I wanted to make a 3D comet but it was a little expensive.
