The WU'a are all getting file

The WU'a are all getting file errors even before the 0xC00000005:

Failed to open checkpoint-file for writing. Exiting.
(most of the error WU's have this)

Status code 1: Could not open ephemeris file

What other software is running, like anti-virus, file backup and indexing?

Does the person running BOINC have write access to the entire BOINC tree?

In this case I'd say yes. The WU's show significant CPU usage, like this one with over 19,000 seconds.

The reason why you are down to 1wu/day is because of the wu being returned having errors. When you return a 'bad' wu the daily limit decreases (by 1 I think) each time. When you begin returning 'good' wu this limit will increase again. Now as to how to fix your problem.........sorry I'm not much help although I will ask when you upgraded to 4.45 did you uninstall 4.19 first before installing 4.45

That's an interesting idea, but what if something odd happens. I went camping for a bit, left my computer on to run BOINC and something went horribly wrong and it didn't run at all. Thus my total work unit count was reduced to 0. I kept getting "Requesting 0 seconds of work, sending 0 seconds of work" messages. I finally ended up reattaching to the project. This seems to be a problem with the plan.

Your total WU count will never reach 0. The message simply means that it was neither asking for, nor sending any work. Nothing to do with your quota.

As to why it stopped running on your system, I couldn't say. Are you attached to any other projects? Was it doing work for any of them? It could have been a Long Term Debt issue, and the scheduler was just waiting for the other projects to catch up before downloading any more work from the project giving you the message.

If the person has been returning garbage results, and has a quota of one and still is returning garbage, yes it is entirely possible that the client will be out of work.

Depending on what other projects that you are running, their deadlines and how much work they have left, you may have to wait for some work to be completed before any work will be downloaded from any project.

I took it to mean his quota was zero. My apologies.
