We rarely have problems here

We rarely have problems here but I learned years ago to plan ahead every day just in case so.....I have 378 tasks in progress.

And I have a feeling Bernd and Oliver can fix the problem way before the due dates (and the start of my 11th year here)

And I don't use my GPU's for anything else.

We both attained to the project in 2005. So how can you celebrate the 11th year here?

I came to the forum to check

I came to the forum to check if the upload issue was a problem on my end or the project's. Satisfied that it was nothing in my power to correct, imagine my surprise to see an inordinate amount of whining going on. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the world is not ending because of this, is it? I only have a few million Einstein credits at last count so maybe I'm not in the high-stakes game here, only in the lowly crunching for science game.

I must be missing something.

For what it's worth, there is a lot of whining about no work units for WCG's Ebola project too even though millions are still dying from cancer and AIDS and there is plenty of crunching to be done in those projects. Perhaps stop endlessly hitting the retry button and download a worthwhile project to fill in the downtime as has been suggested numerous times.

Thanks to the project scientists and administrators working on fixing this.

It depends how you count it:

[pre]2005, the 1st Year
2006, the 2nd Year
2007, the 3rd Year
2008, the 4th Year
2009, the 5th Year
2010, the 6th Year
2011, the 7th Year
2012, the 8th Year
2013, the 9th Year
2014, the 10th Year
2015, the 11th Year[/pre]

I'll ask this here; as I

I'll ask this here; as I asked elsewhere and didn't get a response...

Can I shut down my computers tonight without fear of losing anything??? I usually shut down my computers at 9 PM - Pacific Time. For the past two nights; I've left them running while BOINC is in "idle"; "Suspended... Time of day."

I would really like to turn them off tonight.

Thanks,

Good evening TL04. You can shut them down with no fear of losing anything. Your files, even any in progress ones, will be saved to disk.

Hi, Would it help if I

Hi,

Would it help if I suspend all network traffic -
(but first do downloads for other projects) in the hopes
of reducing retry traffic??
Then wait 12 hours & try again?

1 person probably won't matter - but if others suspend as well?

Thanks,
Jay
