Keep up the good work Bernd.

Keep up the good work Bernd. I know from own experience that waiting for huge filesystemes to finish checks, takes time, and gives the operators heartattacks. I just uploaded some tasks from other projects to let the CPU/GPU have something to do meanwhile, and when Einstein returns to operational status, my systems will just continue chewing your tasks Bernd.

Best luck. Bent, Oslo, Norway

It is probably better that

It is probably better that the work units stay on your machine for now. The administrators found file system corruption, so the file system needs repair. The repair could cause files to get lost but is necessary. The uploader has been shut down until the file system can be repaired to prevent the loss of your work unit results.

RE: This is taking too

This is taking too long. All my machines are idle. Time to switch projects.

Sounds like this is one of those problems that's going to take as long as it takes to resolve. For me, that's fine, its not ideal as I'll soon be out of work again with the machines that were lucky enough to upload and download new work but I'm prepared to wait.
In the 4+ years I've been crunching here this is the first major (unplanned) problem/outage, you'll be hard pressed to find another project (and its team of programmers/scientists) as reliable and informative as Einstein@home.
Faith in the backroom staff and patience is all that is needed :-)

This is exactly the reason I am here between SETI@Home's recent work shortage/outage, until they get the new receiver up and running...

...and of course the problems have to follow me. Sorry to curse the project. :^)

Guess we all have to go home

Guess we all have to go home and sleep while file system is checked.
This was a hard day night. So new day will bring new thoughts and may be a graceful solution.

P.S. I just recovered almost lost Win 2K3 Server with all installed features and settings (users, terminal server etc.) after a filesystem damage on a dynamic volume followed by a driver corruption. And I now understand all the feelings about this situation.

I have all these work units sitting on my machines incapable of being uploaded. Are you working on that as well?
