So I've got you beat by about 7 months.
It happened at: 'He set foot on the Moon at 03:15:16 on July 21, 1969', I was 15 1/2 years old and watched it on tv!
Correction then: I was two years, 21 days old, nine hours, 9 Minutes, and 16 Seconds old when Neil and Buzz landed on the moon. :-O ;-)

03:15:16 in what time zone? If it was Houston, I was probably asleep at 2 years, 7 months, 17 days, and coming up on about 13 hours (if my memory of what time I was told I was born is correct).

I'm not sure alot of this wasn't an attempt to say 'my child isn't normal and that's why they aren't as good as all the other kids' by parents who didn't really understand that each kid is different. Remember there were few books, before Dr. Spock, on how to raise a kid, and they do NOT come with instruction books, as I told mine more than once when I made bad decisions. Having 'something wrong' with their kid gives the parents an excuse for why their kid isn't doing as well as everyone else. I think the kids just took the easy way out and said 'see I can't do it and YOU said so by giving me all these pills'.
That could well be true. I'm targeting my fellow professionals because, on the face of it at least, we're supposed to be the clever ones who have better domain knowledge. FWIW uptake of drugs in this clinical area is relatively low DownUnda. Basically medication is seen as a last, not first, resort.

I don't know, I just cut and pasted from the Wiki page. I can take a guess and say East Coast Time as alot of Nasa was on the East Coast back then, but they also had a huge presence in both Alabama and Texas too. It is too far back for me to remember exactly, but I do remember sitting on the floor right in front of the tv and watching it live. Well as live as they got back in those days anyway, I'm pretty sure they had a delay in case something went very wrong.
There is a new posting up on nasaspaceflight.com. While the headline news is that SpaceX intends to "relaunch" their (hoped-for) successfully recovered booster in a test flight from SpacePort America here in New Mexico, I think the main interest on this forum might be the pretty extensive review of SpaceX reuse planning and operation history to date.
Excellent link. And yes it is the "magic" of recovery that intrigues me. And now the question: will the first stages be reusable and if so for how many missions. Enough to justify the co$t$?

I was 9 years old .... and watched it on TV !
I remember it being a large Black + White TV.
Possibly a Magnavox - then again the footage was
black + white so, it could have been color )
