Cool Camaro ! That's pretty much the equivalent/analog of what I'll be watching. Slam it down the straight and hope it has some cornering ability. The engine block sits more or less over the front axle. The way the Supercars are set up almost never gives under-steer/tight ( the front camber is rather insane ), over-steer/loose is the typical enemy. As the rear tank drains then there is constant brake-balance/torsion-bar/Watts-linkage/etc adjustment. I like to watch the hood of the cars at the braking point of the longer straights, they dip on brake application. These guys hit the mark time and again within a 3 meter bracket, the rotors glow red. Of course it is mildly exciting to watch any attempt to 'gather up' if they are even a meter too late, they get to apex that 20 km/h too quick. Three does not go into one and hence with the chicane I typically watch at there is always the 'criss-cross' to amuse ! :-)

( edit ) I will cheekily add that DownUnda we have corners that go to the left and corners that go to the right : both on the same track AND without reversing direction ! :-)
( edit ) Braking performance is so amazing these days - carbon fibre et al - that the timing into a corner is insanely late compared to the days of yore. You can easily shave off 100 km/hr in half a dozen car lengths ( that's about 0.8g fore to aft ). As ever the limit is the tyre grip to support that, plus sustained brake cooling which is an art form in itself. The aero packs are the key to heat loads here, so much so that there is a huge performance problem if one car follows another too closely. Now if the front splitter ( the air scoop below the front grill ) gets out of shape there is a bit of a drag issue for sure at the top end of speed, but far more importantly underbody airflow is screwed so when air gets to the rear end the downforce from the rear spoiler is, well, spoiled. These cars are sooo twitchy when the back end gets 'light' ....

Yeah we sat at a point ~ 100m outwards from a stop-go corner, where they change up from 2nd to 3rd gear. With a sequential box there's a quick rev blip then a backfire which goes off like a shotgun when you're 10m to the side. Sometimes there's spectacular pipe flames if they are running rich. I did record it on my phone but there's no bass response with it's microphone .... the replay sounds pathetic alas. Great day to watch but my faves came 12th. They qualified poorly alas.
