In case anyone is wondering if it works, YES IT DOES! I installed the 64bit Win10 Preview today and it even installed the Nvidia drivers for me with NO intervention on my part at all. I started with a brand new unformatted 160gb hard drive and after about 30 minutes my AMD 6 core machine with 8gb of ram and an Nvidia 760 gpu in it was up and running. It is a desktop machine so hard wired internet for me, and everything works just fine! I did have to install my own anti-virus and malware software and of course Boinc, but they were fast and easy. I even installed my free backup software, ALL Win7 compatible stuff, and it works just fine. In fact the first backup is running right now to a local 1TB usb drive I use just for that purpose.
This is a Boinc ONLY machine so if it crashes I still have the old Win7 hard drive in the machine I switch back too if needed. That also means there is NOT alot of other software that will be installed either. I am crunching 2 Einstein gpu units and 4 Cosmology cpu units all at the same time, just like when it was a Win7 machine. The estimated time to finish is similar to the Win7 software, but you can see how it is doing as my pc's are not hidden and it does show Windows 10 under the OS tab.
The look of it is very similar to Win7 and is pretty easy to use or figure out. I do NOT have a touch screen so this works just fine for me.

I agree that it works fine. I have been running it on a desktop for a while with three different projects, although focusing on Einstein only at the moment.

One thing to note, is that Microsoft has been doing an update nightly that will force a reboot once complete. Unfortunately, you can not stop or decide when to reboot, and generally all my computer does is shutdown without turning off completely.
I have had a few crashes with the computer, but some are to be expected as this is still considered really early software. I am using the PC as HTPC, watching stuff online via browser, and crunching only.
Just keep in mind that if you use Win10 Technical Candidate, that will need to keep a watch on the PC and reboot / login often.

The initial build did seem to let me wait on the reboot, but the second build has been rebooting after a definition update (if I remember correctly) is applied.
No, unfortunately no setting that I found to control the reboot. Microsoft has locked out some of the Windows Update settings to make sure that the computers get updated. Their is also a new build out again that may change how updates are applied, but I do not think it has installed on my PC yet.
Check link for Win 10 Tech Preview ISO. This is the consumer version, not the enterprise one. I think this is the initial build that they released, and I believe we are up to the third build now.

I only have one pc that I would test this on since it is 8.1 and I just don't like it and just use it for a Boinc cruncher
The rest of mine are Win7's and I still have one XP Pro running after over a decade.
I tend to watch all of mine this time of year so I would keep an eye on the one if I do this update from 8.1 to 10
Then as usual there will be tricks to find/figure out

Yes I burned a dvd from an ISO file and installed it from that. Mine is the original release version, but it will update tonight. It did say I could do it right now, but I wanted to crunch a few units first. I found that under Windows Update in the search box.
I did install VNC on it and it seems to work okay both going in to it and going to other pc's from it.

@Updates: that's surely a special setting for the previews, as MS doesn't want users to use, judge and give feedback on old versions. I'm sure the fials version will provide sane options again.
@Magic & "I don't like Win 8.1": to be honest.. for a BOINC cruncher you shouldn't expect much of a difference between 8.1 and 10. Just boot to the desktop, have your programs launch and be done with it. Actually that's not any different from 7 either. The differences only start to appear when you're actually working with the system and get to enjoy the better file explorer, task manager etc. under the newer OS's. Or the significantly faster boot & suspend to disk on laptops. Or the Win app store for some free casual games.

I would agree with that too, if you are JUST crunching it doesn't make alot of difference what OS you use, but Win10 is ALOT like Win7 and that to me is a good thing. As I said I was up and crunching in under an hour from start to finish and that INCLUDED the Nvidia gpu drivers that wee installed by default. I DID manually update them to the latest and greatest, but that was my choice. 99% of my machines are Win7 machines, having Win10 be close enough to be easy to figure out is a good thing for me. I did have a little problem finding how to restart the pc manually, but once I found it it makes sense. No more 'start' button to shutdown, I guess the ads worked.
