I got lost in the forums here and I found myself reading one of Mike's posts from way back in Oct. 2006 about the barycenter between Earth - Moon )
Good Stuff )
@David : Mea culpa. I have concussed you with the pink. IMHO it's a color that carries alot of force. :-)
@Mikey : I think Phil means the density of something is approaching a maximum ( assuming a smooth function etc ) ... but of what? It could be the density of meteor impacts that the Earth experiences for instance eg. the Leonids will peak on Nov 16th say. The Earth passes through a stream of celestial rubbish that is the circulating debris from a comet. It could be the number of tadpoles in his backyard pond, but I'm hoping it is something that I could reasonably deduce from being the other side of the planet as Phil ... :-)
@Bill : Oh dear, barycenter in 2006 huh ? I was probably going on about tides perhaps.
@Phil : This reminds me of a Fry & Laurie skit. Two guys are in a field for a duel, old style. The Master Of The Duel says to Mike : "As the senior noble on the field you get to choose the dueling weapon. So what shall it be Sir ? Sword or pistol ?". Mike says : "By the blood of my forefathers I will take the sword, my man. I will run this hound through as tradition demands." The Master Of The Duel gives Mike a sword. He then turns to Phil and gives him the pistol .... :-) :-)
Cheers, Mike.
I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...
