It hasn't been the best of weeks (or rather best of 10 days) over in Seti land.

In addition to some internally based outages (on Thursday/Friday and then on Monday morning), there have been two outages via Cogent, their high speed line. The first was about 10 hours in length, the second one (ongoing at this moment) has lasted over 22 hours).

So folks who already have the BOINC client in play (like me) may add Einstein to their active project list...

Thanks Dan... I think I'll grab myself something from the bar while I'm here!

Hey, I noticed we've got the same processors. People like to knock the Celerons, but ya know these new Prescotts do pretty well. Quite overclockable too based on reports I've read. Have you had any heat issues? Mine hovers at about 55°C running BOINC.

Happy Crunching :)

Well, I've set up two workstations with the Einstein project -- don't have plenty of WU's though -- just one on each -- not sure what's up with that. Hopefully after I send the completed units up, I'll be able to download a batch of units.

I actually have enough Seti cache to last on most of my Seti Boinc farm into midweek next week, but figure with the up and down issues over there, adding an extra project makes a lot of sense.

Regarding newer processors -- the AMD 64's are quite nice -- I'm running two of them so far -- fast and they run much cooler (and quieter with the stock fans) than the earlier 32 bit AMD XP's.

Good grief, Barry... did you

Good grief, Barry... did you check out the work unit your first computer is currently working on? It's been sent out 61 times! LoL. I wasn't aware that they even did that. So... are you going to be the one to tame that wicked beast of a WU??

I do wonder what's up with that one though. It looks like most folks have completed it, but they all yielded invalid results?

I imagine you've only got one because of a combination of one or more of small resource share, small connect to network interval and small client on time. In any case, more work will appear well before the current work completes. Have you figured out that E@H work is a bit different compared to Seti WUs?

Cheers,
Gary.

@Barry: Kill that WU, it is waste of time!

This one is the typical problem with frequency too close to the 60Hz Powerlines. The WU searches from 59.4 to 59.9 Hz.

A long time ago there was a thread adressing this problem. As I remember the result file wass too large (10MB limit that time). The changed the limit to 30 MB, but it might still be a problem.

How large is the Fstats.Ha file?
