Topic 196694

I was without Internet access for ~2 weeks. Having returned, and having reported Some WUs too late, I'm back in the crunching business. The Projects tab accurately shows my Work done as 3907292.75, and Avg. work done as 2336.33, whereas the Statistics tab indicates Work done as ~18480 and Avg. work done as ~143. Updating after completing a new WU does not change the discrepancy. Any ideas what's going on, and how to correct the problem? TIA

Edit: My Credit and RAC are more accurately shown to the left of this post.

Are you sure you're not mixing projects up, this is Einstein@home,

at Cosmology@Home you have just reported 4 Workunits, prior to reporting them you'll have had 18480 Credits, now you have 20,160 Credits there, and a RAC of 232.18

I just now noticed that

I just now noticed that myself. The numbers show that I don't do much for Cosmology anymore. I used to, but now I'm devoted to discovering something amazing. Anyway, it was a false alarm. Everybody can relax again.:-D

The other thing it is a webpage and it does NOT get updated instantly, it is usually in the 1 hour range for the Server to make the updates at most projects. SOME THINGS are fairly instant but no everything.

What do you mean by 'it' in "it is a webpage"? The OP clearly mentioned the Statistics tab (in BOINC Manager) and that is not a webpage. The data displayed there is entirely local and is updated every time the client contacts the server. If you want to see the very latest available info, simply 'update' the project prior to selecting the Statistics tab. The problem was nothing to do with out-of-date info. The OP was simply looking at the info for the wrong project.

It's quite OK to offer an opinion about a topic that is open to debate. It's not helpful to make sweeping statements that are not correct and are likely to confuse the readership in general. Please keep in mind that there are lots of occasional readers who may not have enough experience to judge for themselves, the accuracy of what they are reading.

Cheers,
Gary.
