I have also seen some odd

I have also seen some odd behaviour of the newer nvidia drivers.
The gpu usage is jumping up and down. Running two work units at the same time doesn´t improve the RAC. Looks like some kind of throttle on the gpu. The system is a quite old .

Ok, my conclusion came to

Ok, my conclusion came to fast. The same is happening with the old driver. Although only one cpu and one gpu work unit is running the overall cpu usage is jumping between 60% and 100%.
So the new app is really demanding.

Running only one gpu work

Running only one gpu work unit and no cpu work unit gives nearly flat perfomance.
So one old cpu core (Core 2 Duo /Penryn) isn´t enough to feed the new app.

My e8400@3,85 ghz runns

My e8400@3,85 ghz runns einstein with no problems (15% cpu load per wu at the same time) at constant 98-99% gpu load on a 560ti. So it is way fast enough. Some older core2 cpus are running too with 95%...Withoem running on another card it goes down to 92% but thats ok.

I´m sorry. I had some

I´m sorry. I had some problems with a network driver, which was causing a high periodical load one the cpu. I have reinstalled all network drivers and now everything works as it should. So yeah, a Core 2 Duo is still in the game ;)

I still use somewhat older

I still use somewhat older drivers, 275.33 on a GTX480 and
280.21 on the GTX470.

But I did switch (back) to do 2 WUs per GPU, count 0.5.

The
difference isn't that big on this host.
But big enough to do 2 BRP4/GPU.

On the Q6600+GTX470 the difference is in favor running 2 per GPU.
(WIN XP x86 & x64{GTX480})
On my ATI (HD58702x) host, 1 in 2400 seconds, 2 in ~3400 seconds average over
40 WUs.(WIN 7;64bit)
And in all cases, CPU time increases with each added task.

Also good UP & Download speed, specially compaired to SETI in some periods.;-)
(OS: WIN XP x86; WIN XP x64 and WIN 7 x64). And BOINC 7.0.28 x86/x64 in all cases and the Data-Dir has a different (Hard)Disk.

But when little work is available, 1 BRP4CUDA/ATI can run using half the GPU,
I've seen this at SETI@home with M(ulti) B(eam) work.

Well late last night I added

Well late last night I added a new GTX 550Ti 2GB (fermi)

For some reason the tasks are jumping up and down with the times (cuda X2)

While I sit here watching it run X2 at about 52mins as expcted

But every time I turn off the monitor and leave the room the time jumps up to between 6 and 8 hours per cuda X2

GPU-Z says it is running GPU load in the upper 90% and temp is at 67 C

So not much done in the last 20 hours (8 total)

3,279 seconds to 33,758

Sounds like a down clocking issue. I notice that there is a 306.97 WHQL driver for Vista/Win7/Win8 or 306.81 for XP. The description of what's new mentions down clocking on factory OCed cards.

Yes I had 306.81 last night when I d/l'd the drivers after installing the card but about an hour ago I switched back to 266.71

I guess I will see what happens now......I also just d/l'd the EVGA OC and EVGA EVGA Precision

Edit: well that didn't work so I switched back to 306.81
