Did anybody notice something weird with BRP 1.28 running on Linux x64 and Nvidia drivers 3xx.xx?

This machine, now running nvidia driver 304.48, was happily running 2 BRP 1.28 tasks in parallel while using Nvidia drivers 29x.xx, now it choked on plenty of similar tasks even if they are started one by one?
Did anybody notice something
