It does not look like this unit will ever complete. out of five attempts, i think mine is the only one to complete successfully. This is not one of the really large units.

You're right, I won't complain about them anymore, I wondered if there were worse ones.

Probably part of the problem

Probably part of the problem is they were keyed to the old app when the work was generated. Some hosts have more trouble with the old app than others, even on Windows.

Hi! This one is

Hi!

This one is exceptional as well, note that the very first host succeeded (more than a month ago), and all hosts afterwards failed or were aborted :-(

http://einsteinathome.org/workunit/33885575.

But please note also this is not the rule, most WUs work without such glitches. This is the exception, not the rule!

Yes, but now you needn't worry any more :). The latest machine to join your quorum belongs to BarryAZ who will surely come to your rescue this time :).

A little suggestion for you. You will notice in your full results list that your latest three results (the so-called Bikeman Monsters) are all pending. You could increase your chance of having them validated sooner after you returned them by getting them a little in advance of actually needing them. This allows them to "mature" for a little before you start crunching them. You can do this by increasing your "connect to network" preference setting from the default 0.1 days to perhaps something like 2.0 or 3.0 days. Don't go beserk with this as there are nasty surprises when supporting multiple projects if the value is large. If you only run EAH, 3.0 days would be fine.

Cheers,
Gary.

However, even though they shouldn't spend as much time pending than if you run the default CI or shorter, it doesn't help your RAC or anything like that. As you said, it can/will make CC scheduling more difficult in multi-project scenarios on a slower host. OTOH, on a single project box, no harm... no foul as they say. ;-)

Thank you for the suggestion, as soon as i am sure I understand it, I will likely do it.

I'm confused! WU: results list
validated 3 times for 347 credits and once for 648 credits??? And still has 4 results "pending"??
