Every work unit started so far has come up with a "computation error".My machine is set mostly on default preferences and set to run all the time. My machine has spent a fair amount of time on this project with nothing to show. I also run the SETI project with few problems, other then SETI server problems.

Why Does Every WU Error Out

Paul --

Have you tested your machine with a memory checkout program to make sure you do not have a defective memory stick in your machine?

Click on your name at the left go to view computers and look at the error codes and then go to the wiki and look them up.....

Same problem here... every WU

Same problem here... every WU errors - even after I've detached and reattached program. This is something new within last 2-3 weeks. I've been stuck on 3547.63 forever and have not changed operations that I recall. My SETI, Predictor and Climate programs all seem to be working and updating every day or two as usual. I'm beginning to feel really "left out in the cold."

Even a new machine can have a bad memory module. And perhaps Seti doesn't stress your RAM enough...

Memtest86+ is probably the most popular.

I would suggest running over night (at least 12 hours) for a proper stress test. If you can do that with no errors, your memory subsystem is stable, and you can rule it out as a problem.

37 passes NO errors. Not a memory problem

Ran memory test... no problem here on that so I just detached Einstein since I've run 20 days with no updates. Figured I'd better use CPU time on something else that seems to update just fine every day or two. I don't know what else to do since I'm not the "geek" type that can figure this out!

I was having the same problem until I killed the screen saver. All of my Einstein results ended up in Computation errors and randomly some of my Seti's would also fail the same way. Since changing the screen saver off of BOINC I havent had a single problem.
