Welcome to Einstein, Daniel!  I hope you'll find it enjoyable to be here.

We're for the most part a very helpful group, so don't he hesitant to ask questions if you need help with something.

BTW, I'm also known as "Curious George", so don't get offended if I ask anything that you don't want to answer.  Just tell me "It's none of your business" and I'll go away quietly.   LOL

Oh, one more thing.  You might want to allow your computer(s) to un-hidden from view if you do need help with BOINC.  It helps others who can help you with most anything related to BOINC.  And we don't have a problem with external viewers or hackers.

I used to live in a neighborhood in Northern Virginia that was less than an hours driving distance to the Pentagon and multiple Military bases and alot of my neighbors were Officers, in fact one of my neighbors thank god was on vacation in Florida when the plane went into the Pentagon because the planes went right thru his Office!!! But any I used to tell them the same thing George...'if I ask a question you can't answer just say so and I will move on', more than once a neighbor said I can't talk about that while others were quite happy to talk about things going on here there or everywhere in their daily lives. The stuff they talked about while interesting was stuff like one neighbor was getting transferred to California to train pilots how to fly the fuel tanker airplanes so other planes, helicopters, etc could get the fuel they needed. He apparently was VERY VERY good at flying the tankers and they had a new tanker coming on line and he already had experience in flying it.

As an aside m dad was in the Air Force and was working at the Pentagon, he was a Logistics Officer, when I went into the Military and he swore me in in his Office. I went into the Navy and my dads boss the General was not impressed but shook my hand and congratulated me anyway.

It is Saturday, the 25th of January. 11:53 AM CST.

It is above freezing during the Daytime in North Eastern Kansas, USA (just outside Kansas City Metro area).

The 10 day, daytime Forecast says except for one day at 32-33 F we are having a "heatwave".

Mostly high 40's with one day hitting 50 F.

Neat story!  As for "...the General was not impressed...", was he not impressed because your dad swore you in, or was he not impressed with you.  Just thought I'd ask.

Here in Rockford, northern Illinois, USA, the next week it will be above freezing with temps in the '30s & low '40s except for tomorrow where it will be 28F for a high.  Then it goes below freezing again.  Brrrr...  It's still cold.

Because I chose to go into the Navy as opposed to the Air Force like my dad and the General.

Which version?

  1. Dry Navy - Aircraft
  2. Wet Navy - Ships and Boats and stuff.
  3. Sunken Navy - Submarines.
