Your dual purpose electric heating is really paying off!
And it is plenty cold around here. Something like 6 F in Eastern Kansas.
Well... It's not really "paying off" as it's costing plenty in my electric bill. Even if I did have my heat turned on, I don't pay for the heat, or any other utility bills other than my electricity & cell phone. It's all included in my rent payment; i.e. - heat, gas, water & sewer and garbage pickup. I won't tell you what my rent payment is though, and I do have to pay an additional $15/mon just for parking.
Today, Friday, Jan 17th, it got up to 54॰ F, but tomorrow, Saturday ..... it is going down to -2॰ F;
Sunday getting up to +8॰ F, Sun night -5॰ F; Monday getting up to +8॰ F, Mon night -7॰ F;
Tuesday getting up to +5॰ F, Tue night -1॰ F; and it won't get above freezing until maybe next Friday.
I still have my windows open with no heat turned on and it's about 80॰ F inside with it still 35॰ F at 11 pm.
Hooray for GPUs !!
At 7:00 am on Sunday it is 4॰ F outside, my LR window is fully open, my BR window is open ~ 1/3, my heat is still off and I still have about 80॰ F inside with no fans blowing.
.....[EDIT].....
For those of you that are wondering WHY I have 80॰ F inside with my windows open and it being +4॰ F outside, here's why:
My two computers are running CPU's at ~ 150 W package power at ~ 75॰ C with two GPU's in each computer running 100% BOINC load utilization and between 59-64॰ C in temperature.
Plus, I live in a 170 unit retirement community building built out of concrete that retains a fair amount of heat from most all other units with heat to keep them warm.
We'll see if this still holds true tonight with it getting to -5 ॰ F.
Well, it's not going down to -5॰ F tonight, Sunday, it will only go down to -3॰ F.
But my LR window is still open wide, though I did close the BR window to stop the cool breeze from blowing in.
The temps have lowered somewhat in my apartment's LR, it is now 76॰ F. I just thought you'd like to know.
OH! BTW, at 10:00 pm it is a 'chilly' ZERO degrees outside, that's 0॰ F.
And at 7:30am on this Tuesday morning it 28F here going up to a high of 38F this afternoon with snow flurries and perhaps a couple of inches overnight. The wife has to put her car in the shop tomorrow so this afternoon we will go drop it off and then hunker down because we RARELY get Snow here at the beach and all the crazies will be out trying to prove they are better than 'those crazy snow drivers up North', it isn't true of course but they just MUST try and prove it. The body shops will all have alot of extra work after today so I'm glad my wife was able to schedule hers before the Snow comes.
Here in Gulf coast Mississippi, there is 2-3 inches of snow on the ground and it's still coming down at a good rate. Woohoo! Bridges are closed, so no point in even thinking of going anywhere. Our cats are not impressed.
Ideas are not fixed, nor should they be; we live in model-dependent reality.
