Aksof, you will like this

Aksof, you will like this comparison on our first validated U41....you have hit a home run again!! You can't get a better validation than this as the Opteron owner is Bruce Allen using a standard 'Albert'....
>Quorum as follows:
>AMD X2 Opteron 175, Albert 4.40-i686, Linux,=14511 secs.
>3.0GHz Xeon, Aksof S40.04, Win3000,=6318 secs.
>AMD X2 Athlon 4200, Aksof U41.02, WinXP,=2164 secs.
You are a marvel...congratulations!....Cheers, Rog.
PS...FYI, I notice the version ident. on the results page is listed as U41.02 and not U41.03

Thanks.
I corrected this "version-bug" in U41.04.

U41.04, S41.07, D41.14 all have a new rounding method.
The first test shows that it produces good values, but I'm waiting for validation. Eh... It's good for C41 too...

Ok, I tested the new version

Ok, I tested the new version of "U". Result was returned and validated, good job! But the speedup to the S41 version is not much high, but it exists.

The first WU crunched with

The first WU crunched with U41.03 has come back VALID, with the shortest time I've seen on this host!

A64 3700+ @2.5GHz:

U41.03/S41.06 - 2006s (the first 2% was crunched by S41.06)

S41.06 - 2159s
S41.06 - 2139s
S41.06 - 2206s

I will post when I have more results with U41.03.
Akosf, you've done an outstanding job once again!

There are 10^11 stars in the galaxy. That used to be a huge number. But it's only a hundred billion. It's less than the national deficit! We used to call them astronomical numbers. Now we should call them economical numbers. - Richard Feynman

Same here: one U41.02/03 WU

Same here: one U41.02/03 WU valid and 4 with times just a bit over 2000 seconds (X2 2.50GHz) pending. Again an amazing improvement!

>Aksof's new version seems stable and is validating OK as far as I know. It will show as U41.02 on the results page even though you update to U41.03. U41.01 was a dud and should be avoided. This update is a real Askof rocket and will make most Intel hosts (and newer AMDs) happy. The man is a marvel...Cheers, Rog.

What optimized version should I use for my SSE2 Pentium M (dothan) notebook?
I think S41.06 is the fastest version for Dothan, at moment.

Wow. Big improvement on my laptop, from 25K to 4K seconds. I'll try it on a regular desktop, too, when I have a chance.

It kinda pisses me off that I and others have been wasting cpu cycles by using 'poorly' programmed clients. The same thing happened on SETI. How can the project directors be so careless (by not distributing better clients) and insensitive (to the fact they are wasting cpu resources, energy, and our emotional mojo).
