First mixed validated result was invalid (mixes S40.03 and U41.01), validated against Pentium4 CPU 2.40GHz with Windows2k and Dual Core AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 175 with Linux 2.6.15-4nemosmp both with standard clients.
There are 10^11 stars in the galaxy. That used to be a huge number. But it's only a hundred billion. It's less than the national deficit! We used to call them astronomical numbers. Now we should call them economical numbers. - Richard Feynman
One invalid U41.01 result with P4 Prescott 2.8GHz (zero valid). SSE3 seems to run fine with Crunch3r's SETI application on this machine so can't see why it wouldn't run an SSE3 Albert as well. Ran much slower than S41.06 too - nearly twice as slow. Gone back to S41.06 for now.
I did a comparison between S41.06 and U41.01.
All results was absolutely same, so I don't understand the reason of your invalid results.
Yes, very odd.

I made a little program that can test the used SSE3 instruction.
I ran your test program, and the result came back a success, so my computer does support SSE3. Yet the three WUs ran with U41.01 all came back with errors, so I'm not too sure what the problem is.

Switched from U4101 to S4106. mxed result was invalid, the following "pure" results are valid (7 valid, one pending). Ran the fisttp test and it says "You will get error message from the system if your cpu does not support fisttp.". I presume that's OK. Cpu is an Athlon 64 3200+ Socket 939 Venice Brand-ID 4 90nm Stepping 2 Rev DH-E6. According to CPU-Z it supports MMx(+) 3dNow(+) SSE SSE2 SSE3 x86-64.
Edit: To get rid of the 32WU/d problem I run BoincStudio as boinc client. That's the reason why this computer is listed with 2 cpu.
I just changed to U41.01 on my Yonah 1.66Ghz and a wu went from ~20700s to ~3700s an incredible improvement. I only have one wu granted so far but I'll keep you posted if anything fails.
Andreas,
looking at your results page, I see only S4106 WUs (plus older onces with official app) - 5.6x faster, yeah!
Thank's for remining me of Yonah - I almost forgot I got one for testing...will try U41 to see how it goes (wasn't good to D 820 based on Presshot architecture).

2nd result invalid (1st crunched only with U4101). Validated (not) against one Pentium M and an Athlon XP with standard apps.

Just started with the new app but I can tell the target graphic moves a lot quicker with S41 than it does with U41. (Prescott with H/T enabled.)
