Nice one MAGIC. After the Blues Brothers effect. Very spiff. As for the tie, well I always have to buy a new one if I ever need it ( funerals, court appearances ). Usually can't find the last one .... :-)
Cheers, Mike.
Thanks Mike,
Yeah that did happen to be after a funeral last year (another story) and my Dad was next to me and about 8 inches shorter.
I have a few ties but haven't mastered tying them.
I try to wear the suit when I go out on my trip to the bank and bill paying and the wife would rather I dressed down when she isn't with me (another story)
Yeah I can add Blues Brothers to my list.....some think I am one of the *Duck Dynasty* or when we went to the local store on Halloween they thought I was a Rabbi (had my fedora on too)
Haven't cut the beard (or my hair) in a few years because.......I don't have to
The wife also doesn't understand what I do here or at Cern or any other high-tech things I have done and just says I am "looking for spacemen*........I remind her this isn't Seti (she was a boat builder in her younger days and owner of Skookum Marine)
And I know nothing about sailboats other than they float.
For some reason I have had the same local doctor for about 10+ years and he still looks like he is less than 30 years old and mentioned to him that all he needs to do is keep me alive and kicking for another 44 years (of course once I am 100 I will want another 44 years)
The best thing to me about my computers is that it makes it much easier to travel to Australia or the Max Planck Institute or the trip to Cern.......in fact Fermi Lab looks like it is farther away than it used to
Maybe I will buy a Fosters next time out and pretend I went on a long cruise (or flight)
OH NO.....midnight and I just looked out the window and it is SNOWING
Well as long as it doesn't block my satellite dish signal I can handle this for the weekend.....and as I say that.....lost the HD signal so outside I go to get the snow off the dish!
It's like all white goods, you mention how good the fridge/freezer/washer/dryer is going and wham ! Down it goes with some fatal error ... big bucks .... :-)
Cheers, Mike.
I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...

ain't that the truth
I did have to do that with the new refrigerator I got after I built this house and we moved in with all new stuff.........so second refrigerator in this house after having the same one working fine for 25 years in the old house.
I would mention the expensive things I bought that still work but I would just jinx myself.
edit: maybe it will last longer since the new fridge is the stainless steel version!
Now I remember ! The guy on the left in the blue and light grey UCLA sweater, with Pulsar A at his front. I don't recall his name but he was one of two chaps that had come down from Hamburg. They were engineers, the sort that actually get their hands dirty with tools. Something about really big power supplies so that's electrical then. We spoke enough of each other's languages to converse err .... adequately .... at least I thought we did well. I found that if you just have a drink in your hand and grin invitingly then contacts happen. Naturally I can't wait to go back. I have no special knowledge here, but I'd put my money on there being an event for our first gravitational wave detection through E@H! That would be very appropriate indeed. Imagine the dear souls who had those work units. You'd be legend .... :-)
Cheers, Mike.

My buddy had that happen until he got a cone for his, it doesn't block the signal but does block the weather stuff from affecting it. This page will give you an idea of what I mean:

No .... well probably no. :-)
I recall it representing the mountain that Aricebo is on. Either that or some mountain that Ben has climbed, as he's real keen on that.
Cheers, Mike.
