NO way! For me, all the fun is in the build and configuration. I just figured I'd be willing to pay the electric for a couple of years in order to enjoy tinkering with it.... after that, its too far outta date to be any fun at all. (and besides that, what are the odds, right?) :)
Just started running Einstein@Home on my two rigs with RTX 3080Ti and GTX 1080Ti. I was wondering whether the default, out of the box experience with Boinc is the best way for highest crunching for these GPUs? Any modifications or ways I should be aware of?
Also, weirdly... it seems like my home computer with 1080Ti is outperforming my work computer with 3080Ti. That tells me something isn't right.

My opinion would be no. You can improve efficiency and performance by reading, understanding and tweaking the large number of preferences that are available. Go to your account page, click on preferences and work your way through the various sub-categories of preferences. Many are clear and straight forward but you need to ask about any that aren't immediately obvious to you.
When you ask for assistance or advice, either you need to fully document your hardware/task details/objectives, or alternatively, set your privacy preferences to allow others to check details for themselves. By default, your computers are 'hidden' so others can't check details and offer advice about potential changes you might consider. Only non-sensitive information is disclosed if you choose to 'un-hide' your computers. You also need to allow exporting of stats if you wish to see your progress listed on stats sites.
If you decide to allow others to see the details, it should be pretty easy for people familiar with your hardware to give meaningful advice.

I looked at your computers. The 1080 ti is running 300~ second Brp7 tasks. The 3080 ti is running 600~ second Brp7 tasks.
Are you running any app_config.xml files on either computer? Same Windows 11 graphic drivers?
What CPU load are you running? If the GPU tasks are being starved they will run slower :)

Could be many things but the 3080Ti is one hot piece of hardware so ? thermal issues/throttling ?

The computers are now visible and the 3080 Ti is showing ~300 sec MeerKAT results, not the 1080 Ti.
