I was looking at my pending results and saw this one. I am machine 31716. The other machine that has reported at the time of writing is 14263, which is claiming half what I am and took a lot longer to process the wu.

The thing is, if you look at the details of that machine, it is a 3.2GHz machine whereas mine is a 2.53GHz. I would have expected such a machine to crunch much faster, yet looking at it's benchmarks, it has half the flops rating of mine.

Odd machine.

Host 14263 is a HT PC using 2 "virtual" CPU's to crunch at the same time.

During the benchmark the results are calculated per CPU.

There are many threads about

There are many threads about this subject; it all comes down to speed versus throughput; look at his WU's : its reporting two finished at the same time; dubbel processor system;
do a search on this subject and will read it all; see also the the doc's of Paul Buck on this.

Hmmm, looking at the same

Hmmm, looking at the same machine today, it seems to have doubled it's flops rating.
