First I must apologise in advance if the answer can be found elsewhere, I have looked, but me being blonde can`t see the wood for the forest.
I have 2 WU running which is fine, but
why do I have one of the WU half finished with the message "waiting to run" that has today changed to
"waiting for memory" ??

Hi,
it looks like there is currently not enough free RAM on your PC to run both tasks simultaneously.
What exactly is "enough" free free RAM depends on your preferences.
You can set leimits for:
"Memory: when computer is in use, use at most xxx % of total"
and
"Memory: when computer is not in use, use at most xxx $ of total"

Hi,
Details of your PC show, that you have 758.73 MB Ram. This is not really much, especially if you run other programs (Word, Excel etc) at the same time.
Sorry, but it looks like your PC will never effective run two wu's at the same time.

The real total memory is more likely to be 1 GB. When not a lot of other stuff is running this should be enough, I would say. That said, I don't know the actual memory requirements of Einsteins tasks.
Changing the settings as Bikeman is suggesting will certainly help.

Not much less on my Win XP box, times 4 Einstein at a time. 1 GB of memory soon disappears.

Memory is cheap today, at least DDR2. When I bough my SUN WS in 2008 it had a 512 MB RAM stick. I upgraded it to 5 GB, while 8 GB is the mobo limit. I have a 32-bit Linux OS, but since it is PAE it can use all of it. I am running 6 BOINC projects on an Opteron 1210 at 1.8 GHz with two cores, so it can run two projects at the same time. Only AQUA, which is multithreading, occupies all two cores. Most of the RAM is used as disk cache (26% in this moment, with 59% free. No swap is used (I have 4 GB).

But the price doubled in the last year or so. I upgraded from 2GB to 6GB, because at that point the 4GB(2x2GB) DDR2 were cheap. I think I payed only 40€.

In this particular example it is a dual core.That would mean half a gig, excluding the memory used by the OS and other processes.
I would say, 1 GB doesn't have to be too low.

The odd number of 758MB ram points to a mainboard with onboard graphic. Usually they allocate the (shared) ram dynamically. So it really depends on other tasks (virus scanner, spam-filters etc) and services, the screen resolution, colour depth and eventually loaded graphic filters, whether or not enough ram is available for two tasks.
My win7-64 reports 234.204k ram used for a S5GC1 task.

This can be reduced via BIOS settings. Onboard graphics are no good for 3D games anyway, and I guess 128MB for 2D desktop should be enough.
