Einstein@home got a new server status page. Key features include:
- static page generated every 15 Min, should be much more robust
- accesses replica instead of main DB. Pro: doesn't stress main DB, Con: may show backlogs that aren't there, e.g. when dumping the replica for backup.
- monitors ABP daemons
- includes basic ABP progress numbers
- list workunits and task per application / search
- XML output

On a related note: Having the ABP workunit generators not running is not an error. We are currently transitioning to a new data set and needed these to finish all input data from the old set first.

The new page's automatic layout turns into a mess at very high monitor resolutions. Screenshot it from Opera; FF is just as bad.

From ABP stat:
Observation time processed 343.06 hrs
Beams processed 32203
Total survey telescope time 1441.75 hrs
Fraction of beams completed 47.30 %
47% ??
what does this value mean?
recently, the value was approximately ~ 24%
and 344/1441 provide same ~ 24%

Sorry, I don't actually find that noticeably messy. The layout is derived from the standard BOINC sample_server_status page. How do the SSPs of other BOINC projects look like on your screen? What would you expect or like to see?

What's the difference between
)
What's the difference between an "ABP work generator daemon" and an "ABP work generator task" ?
RE: What's the difference
)
The (enabled) daemons are running continuously to generate work. The tasks periodically peek into the database to see how much work (tasks to send) is there, start making work if there is too little and stop working if there is enough or too much work.
Therefore a daemon not running is shown as an error (red), a task not running is just shown as a note (yellow).
A large number of tasks running over a long time indicates that projects admins should enable more daemons, no tasks running ever means that some daemons should be disabled.
