    I just noticed that there is a new version of BOINC to be downloaded and installed. Is the bug fix worth the effort at the new version? I don't recall having any problems with the last version. Also, what will the new version do to my GPU?

      For 6.6.41 the biggest fix is the zero bytes upload bug for projects like Sztaki and Lattice. Previous versions would crash the client on trying to upload these zero byte files. Since BOINC 6.10 is not ready for mainstream release yet, I asked that the fix for this problem was back-ported to a 6.6 version and got that request granted.

      It shouldn't affect your Nvidia GPU. ATI detection isn't in 6.6.41, that's really slated for 6.10

        6.10.17 is now the "official" version. From the BOINC Alpha email list...

          anyone know if it fixes the problem of boinc asking for CPU and GPU work and doing a 4hr backoff after getting none of the later because of a CPU only app info?

            Not until Einstein upgrades their server software.

            There is a - sort of - fix which stops the client even requesting work you don't want to run. But it's not quite fully polished (bugs with non-default venues), and it relies on an updated version of the "Use Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) if available" preference, which isn't available at Einstein yet.

              It looks for me that the identifier has changed in boinc 6.10.17.

              This little cruncher (http://einsteinathome.org/host/2069906) cannot report completed workunits and also will not get new work. This happend after:

              I'm sure this will affect all linux 64 bit crunchers running the 6.10.17 boinc.

                Is that error only for e@h? (Is s@h ok?)

                  This was the boinc I used before. It was a 64 bit boinc too.
                  At the moment I only running e@h on the atom. I will reenable s@h now ...
