Before you started aborting work you were getting this error:
6.6.38
too many exit(0)s

If you have set "Use at most xxx percent of CPU time" under your preferences to anything but 100 % try setting it back to 100%.
RE: Before you started
)
did not notice any error messages of the sort nor looking back over the message log do i see any thing like that. all i see are notes where the tasks have been restarted after pausing. i will, however try setting to 100% cpu, it was at 90.
thanks for the advice. i will report back if it worked. though i rather doubt it will.

giving boink 100% of the cpu time did not work. but here is something interesting. while the task says that it is running and is preventing another project from utilizing the cpu, it is not actually using cpu time.
RE: RE: Before you

I don't think I can help you any more, but you can see the errors for your self by going to your account page here on the Einstein site and then click on view "Computers on this account", click on "tasks" next to the affected computer and then go back in the log, when you start seeing "Compute errors" click on the "task ID" on the left side.
RE: ok I see that now that

What it means is pretty clear
An application has exited prematurely (unexpectedly) more than 99 times without generating a checkpoint, so giving up on that task.
but that doesn't tell us what is going wrong. Normally this message is accompanied by messages like "Can't acquire lockfile" or "Result exited with zero status but no 'finished' file."
Did you check that you set 100% of computing time (not processors) in local and online preferences? CPU throttling is the most common reason for your problem.
That's not very motivating for us to help you.
Did you try an advanced forum search for "too many exit(0)s" with the filter set to one year?
Did you try a repair install of BOINC? Did you try a clean install after uninstall? Did you try the newest (6.6.41) recommended version of BOINC?

Not sure what my credit and RAC is, I don't really care about those things, so if you think... nay, if you feel that experience in answering BOINC related questions must come from people with the same amount of credit/RAC that you have, then please look further.
Gundolf was answering to your veiled threat in message 100151.
No one likes to answer to threats, as either the answer will be taken with gratitude or it will be taken out of context. You posted the threat, yet no one is allowed to answer you on it? You posted it on public forums.
If you do not want an answer to these things, then simply do not post them. Keep them in your mind, not in the open. It's called flame-bait, it goes against the rules you post with (look at the left pane of the answer window, study them).
You're asking for help, yet at the same time you put a threat down that if you do not receive correct and timely help, you're going to leave the project. What's the incentive for me to help you? Why should I bother?
We're all volunteers here helping others. You see none of us treat you or others this way, so what makes you special that you are allowed to put the threat down, then when answered on it, come back to it with more threats?
Attitudes like that make only sure that a next time you come asking for help, people who have seen your posting attitude here will not even bother.
