" July 7th, 2009 has been announced as the official start date of LIGO's sixth science run (S6).... Current plans are to run S6 for approximately one month and then to shut down for a period to allow for a further round of commissioning and detector improvements. Once these adjustments are made, the interferometers will again be powered up and S6 will resume. The duration of the run is expected to extend through most of 2010, or as such time as it must conclude to make way for Advanced LIGO preparations."
I got an update from the scientists, the current planning is this:
E@H is in the process of launching an extension of S5R5 which will be
called 'S5R6': this will simply extend the frequency search range from
1kHz up to ~1.2kHz, and is expected to run for another 4-5 months.
There is also work in progress on a new search code with improved
sensitivity, and the scientists are hoping to deploy this in the following run
after S5R6, which will analyze either S6 data or the best of S5 data.
Whats Next?

There is ABP1 and maybe S6?

At S6 there are no chances this year.
