However they are completed in about 8 hours. Because of this incorect time, Einstein won't allow more than 2 work units to be download at a time. Sometimes I have long periods of time when work units are completed before it auto downloads new ones.

BOINC reports work units will take 300-500 hours to complete

Check the duration correction factor number on the affected machine. It'll be high, whereas it needs to be about 1 to 2.

Where do I find the duration correction factor? I don't see it in options or preferences .

Go to your account/computers on this account/computer ID

On the Vista pc's do a search for the file client_state.xml open it with Notepad or something like that. MAKE SURE Boinc is SHUTDOWN before you edit it though. Be careful what you edit, you could mess up the whole thing and have to reload Boinc. It will in the Project section and this is what my line is 1.259502
As for your Linux machines, I have no idea where it would be but am guessing/hoping you could look in a similar place.
My file was in the Boinc/Data directory, yours could be in a whole other place as this machine is XP.

That file is always in the BOINC data directory, regerdless of OS.

That did it! Thanks guys!

The more interesting question now is to ask yourself why the time estimate for crunching (and hence the DCF) got so far out of kilter in the first place.
One likely reason is that somebody adjusted the computer's clock by a large amount (perhaps a couple of weeks or more) without stopping BOINC first. Suddenly BOINC saw a task taking hundreds of hours to complete rather than just the normal 8 hours and so made a big adjustment to the DCF. Moral of the story - stop BOINC first if you want to make a big adjustment to the clock.
This is just one possible scenario - there are probably others as well.
Cheers,
Gary.

I did not know that, thanks!!
OK Gary, I'm going to

OK Gary, I'm going to resurrect this issue, because I'm still chasing the problem. Normally, the WU is assigned about 200 hours when received, and since I crunch for more than one project, this immediately puts me into a time crunch situation where the WU is assigned "High Priority".
Actually, the WU will usually complete in about 11 hours. I have done the suggested fix of resetting the DCF value, but the reset will not hold. It's good for one WU, then I'm back to excessive hours and "High Priority" status. The problem exists only within the Einstein family, so it's gotta be something I'm missing.
Right now the system setup is using ver 6.6.36 of BOINC manager. The machine is a dual core (AMD) 64 bit machine with 2gig memory and nVidia GT9400 video card. Running 32-bit version of XP with all field packs installed. I welcome any/all suggestions, thanks ......
If I've lived this long - I gotta be that old!

Did you try resetting the project (after uploading and reporting all results)? That resets the DCF too, among other things.
