yesterday I got a WU (129385369) which has a very slow progress while crunching, after 3.5 h about 2.2 %.
No my question: Is it a "monster" WU or is something wrong with it?

There are apparently some monsters out there. I have one on my Core 2 Quad Extreme machine that's doing the same thing.

While it could be a monster wu (you'd have to look in the BOINC directories to see how big it is compared to other wu), its possibly a problem with BOINC. Sometimes these happen. We think its a "feature" of BOINC but doesn't occur too often. It happens for other projects too.
I'd suggest shutting BOINC down and rebooting the PC and keep an eye on it after you restart.

I don't know about rebooting. But shutting down BOINC doesn't spur it into action. Shortly before 5 each morning, my BOINC install gets shut down for log rotation and then restarted.

@KSMarksPsych: Do you have such a WU too?
My question is: Am I wasting crunching time for a faulty WU? The estimated calculated finishing time is about 150 - 160 hours on my C2Q . This is a long time to wait, if the WU is faulty or not.
How can I compare the size of this file to other files? In my BOINC directory I have only this WU. What is the standard-size of an Arecibo-WU? This one has a size of 2050 KB.
Edit: I compared an old stderr.txt with the actual one.
old: Data size (bytes): 16179201
actual: Data size (bytes): 1067827201

I agree that it's a monster, and not faulty. On my Extreme Edititon Core 2 Quad (X9650 model), the fastest machine in the house, the WU is progressing. It's just that it's progressing very slowly.
Since I made the first post, I noticed that one of my old P-4 class Xeon machines also has one. It's not near as fast as the X9650, so I guess I'll just have to wait and see how it goes.

I think on slower machines it is hard to hit the deadline. Not everyone is crunching 24/7 and so imho the deadline of 14 days is challenging.

Yes, I have one processing right now.
I also rebooted to pick up a kernel update and that had no effect on it. So I think it's a monster. I've sent an email to the dev team about them.

I just checked on my P-4 Xeon machine. With hyper-threading enabled--meaning that each work unit would process slower than usual, anyway--it's projected to run for 1236 hours.

You must have a partner for the WU, who is nearly as fast as you. If he is not, I mention, that we will have a huge amount of pending credits for a lot of time. I mean the devs must think about that.
