Today i found a wu with app v3.04 in pending state.
Here is a wu with older v3.01-app and granted credits.
What is the difference between both versions?
The new app version contains a new screensaver as the old one caused quite some panic (and failing work units) when Norton Antivirus thought it spotted suspicious code in it. Hopefully the new screensaver will not trigger any false alarms. The science app itself is also a newly compiled version, it does not offer more performance but is compiled aginst a newer BOINC library, hoping to help resolve the "frequent-restart / unable to aquire lockfile" problem that some users have experienced under Windows.
The "science code" is the same. The graphics is all-new code based on a new framework, with which we hope to avoid the false positive detection of Norton Anti Virus for the graphics App. This App also features a newer version of BOINC, which will hopefully help us in solving the "can't acquire lockfile" problem.

Thanks for the info Bernd. I was hit twice by that a couple of weeks ago, but I was making a lot of software changes at the time so I just assumed it was a by-product of that and didn't follow it up.
A diligent user has reported a screensaver problem with V3.04. This has now been resolved by staff and a new version of the science app package has been released to correct the problem. V3.05 will arrive automatically with a new work request and most people will probably already have received it or will be receiving it shortly.
