LC; I am cautious about offering tips and tricks because each rig is different. Just last night I had to do a cold boot with this machine (new monitor), and it got really cranky. Bios nagged about resetting overclock parameters. The thing would not respond to previous settings. After several attempts at returning to blazing speed, I gave up and flashed to the latest bios. So far I am at 2.25 with a lot of work left. The weird thing about this experience is that at 2.93 the server sends me work units that the Einstein software interprets to be 8 hours to completion. After I detuned the rig as a result of last evenings folly those same work units in my que all of a sudden read 5:45 to completion. Can anyone explain this?
My AthlonXP TBred 2400+ is running fine at 11x220 (2400). A Thermalright SI-97 keeps it at 45C while crunching, in a Gateway P-120 case from long ago. FYI the Gateway cases from the P-100 to P-233 are awesome ATX cases. The last of the heavy steel cases.

You could get a better overclock AND run more efficiently by not using the built in overclock feature of your P4P800 and manually overclocking it yourself. The auto-overclock is nice but highly inefficient. You should be able to get 3.0 Ghz easy with stock cooling. I have my wife's P4P800 at 250 FSB and 5:4 on the DRAM ratio/memory divider. My P4 2.4 is at 3.16 Ghz with a Zalman. abxzone is my favorite message board for ASUS tips and overclocking.
