No, I suspect its a problem with one of the download mirrors.
You can try to set your timezone to something else (e.g. central Europe, DST), so BOINC will choose a different mirror. After the download (hopefully) succeeded, you can reset to the correct settings, of course.

Thanks for the reply. Those 8 attempts maxed me out for the day and there's still a couple of hours before I can try again. I'll make one attempt with the correct time zone and if it doesn't work, try the zone switch. I'll let you know what happens.

It looks like you called it, Bikeman. The first attempt failed as before but moving to Vienna did the trick. I've set to NNT so I can be sure and watch over the next download. Hopefully my usual download mirror will be back up soon. Thanks for the assist.

We're currently sorting this out. Until we've contacted the respective mirror admins and fixed the situation the most unreliable mirrors are likely to be temporarily removed from the active mirror list in order to avoid further download failures...

Thanks for this, Oliver. I would not have been able to babysit every time so I was relieved that yesterday's download went off without a hitch. Although..., maybe when I finally get a laptop I can use this as an excuse to really go to Vienna? ;-)
