Maybe off topic, but what the 7734. :-D

Berkeley, USA

The BOINC Project Team announced today they were going to change course for the BOINC Project.

After the recent forum flap on BOINC's premier pilot project, Seti@Home, the project team decided that trying to maintain any semblance of order was a completely futile and self defeating endeavor, and has thrown the Project open to unrestricted Open Source Anarchy and no holds barred Free Speech Expression (regardless of how outrageous that might be).

Project principles were rumored to have said, "You know, we have been bashing our heads against the wall for over 4 years trying to address everyones concerns with next to nothing for resources, for what?? Everyone knows programming something like BOINC is about as difficult as "Hello World", so why should we keep all the fun to ourselves?"

One member was even alleged to have said;

"Maybe a full blown Credit World War and participant scramble would be a good thing. At least in the smoking ruins which would be sure to follow, there would be a 'quieter' period, in which we might actually get some real software engineering and science done!".

Cheers, Mike.

I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...

LOL... Then it has served

LOL...

Then it has served it's purpose! :-D

I was just sitting around waiting for SAH to come back up so I could collect data for today, and I started thinking about all the 'old wounds' which were getting picked at lately.

Then it dawned on me, a lot of us NC'ers (myself included) were starting to take this way too seriously (again), and I just couldn't resist taking advantage of an April Fool's Day opp to give myself a "Der Schmarten Upper". ;-)
