Hi,
I am running two BOINC projects (one should take 67.5% resource while other should take 32.5% resources)

Since last 2-3 days only one project (with 32.5% resources) is running - BOINC is NOT switching back and forth between two projects every hour. I don't understand why?

This is more a BOINC problem than an Einstein problem. Maybe you should post it in the BOINC message boards.

The most probable answer is that BOINC has determined that your 32.5% project will be in danger of missing the deadline. Therefore BOINC will allow only that project to run until the danger has passed. This is precisely how BOINC is designed (ie don't miss deadlines if at all possible).

You don't need to be concerned about this. After the danger is over, BOINC will make sure that your 67.5% project gets its full share.

You will note that I said "most probable answer". Unless you give us a lot more detail about your setup - particularly things like # of days of work you keep on hand, hours per day that you allow BOINC to run, does BOINC run while you are using your machine, how close are the estimates of crunching time compared with the actual time when a job is finished, etc, it's hard to be more precise.

Cheers,
Gary.

Just now, QMC@home stopped

Just now, QMC@home stopped after a 36 hours run and passed the ball to SETI@home which should complete a WU within one hour. I am still waiting for an Einstein WU in order to test 4.27 App for Linux, but it seems to be slower than 4.21 on other machines. I certainly do not wish a slowdown on my already slow PII Deschutes.

My shares are: Einstein 300, SETI and QMC 100.
Edit: instead of an Einstein WU I got yet another SETI, albeit a very short one, with an earlier deadline. Let's see what happens!

Wow, three projects with long WUs at the same time on an old P2 is really a lot.

Well, my DCF is less than 1 on both SETI and Einstein, but it is more than 2 on QMC. Those who complain about "monster WUs" in Einstein should really try QMC, which has the advantage that the quorum is restricted to you, so that even if you are late you do not bother anybody.

Thanks Gary for your reply. I will wait and see how projects progress.
