Yup, that was Astro, right? This was great stuff to read, as he kept folks updated almost daily about progress of that ole Pentium. Rosetta has some shorter WUs as well. Better not try ClimatePrediction, where WUs can take months even on C2Ds :-).
for a box that old, something like primegrid would probably be a good choice. The shorter size WUs there (and you can choose which you want) took ~10m on a celeron 420 (core solo based) 1.6.
Sorry to disappoint you, guys, but i meant P3 like "Pentium 3", not the Playstation. Never saw one of those up close (to be honest, I don't care for games consoles much).

Those "game consoles" have reached 882 teraflops in Folding@home. IBM BlueGene/L, the fastest supercomputer in the world, is rated at 280 teraflops on the Linpack benchmark.

Unfortunately, the BOINC platform has not been ported to the CELL engine. But since WorldCommunityGrid, sponsored by IBM, has recently switched to BOINC I would not be surprised if some IBM software guru would do the BOINC port on an IBM microprocessor like CELL.
