I've been watching and reading the message threads about the disparity with the AMD processors. I've heard there might be a fix soon, however I haven't heard anymore about it in a while.
I've heard we are now about 1/3 of the way through the SR5 processing and while I'm not a credit whore, I've seen my stats going in the opposite direction as if I'm not accomplishing anything. Right now the only project that is showing me that I'm progressing is ClimatePrediction. Seti has been on again/off again for weeks now. Einstein seems like its taking days for work and weeks for credit to be applied.
Is there any end in sight for us here so that we return to a more normal situation? I've just finished 400,000 credits with Einstein and if there's no end in sight I'm thinking about switching all my systems over to ClimatePrediction to bring up my scores at least until Einstein gets back on an even keel. I'd really hate to pull any of my systems off Einstein as they have been running 24/7/365 since I first stated 2 years ago.
Any good news would be greatly appreciated.

Einstein Problems Update?
)
S5R2 is not making many people happy. Hopefully S5R3 will be better.
Seti needs about a month to settle down.
You could consider Rosetta???
Waiting for Godot & salvation :-)
Why do doctors have to practice?
You'd think they'd have got it right by now

I'd been running Seti since shortly after they started with the classic version. When they changed over to Boinc they suggested that everyone have more than one project in case there were problems with one you could still have work to do with the other. My oldest son was taking physics in high school and he told me about the "Year of Physics" and Einstein. That's when I decided that Einstein was a worthwhile project as a backup. With all the problems with Seti over the past few years I just left it as 50/50 and Einstein started doing more and more work. Recently when both Seti and einstein had problems I was looking around and someone suggested ClimatePrediction. Considering how important global warming is, I thought I would go with that project. I've been running it for 23 days now on my main system ( other two systems are still on Einstein) and it doesn't seem to have any problems. The workunits are extremely large BUT every day it sends up a trickle amount for credit. I don't know how their credits compare to anyone else's, but my stats have stopped hemeraging and started a slow trend downward again. At least one system has made a difference and is keeping me from going backwards.
I've heard of Rosetta but don't know anything about it. I might be interested in sharing time between Einstein and Rosetta or just switching over to Rosetta until Einstein gets thinks worked out.

Rosetta is biomedical; you can find out all you'll ever want to know by browsing the message boards, they are extensive and informative. One of the best features is that you can pick your own task run time from 2 hours up to 24 hours. Each task is given a starting seed from which protein models are created -- as many as you can create within your chosen run time preference. I personally run Einstein/Rosetta as a 50/50 resource share... for almost 2 years now and have no regrets.

I participate in E@H (obviously), Climate Prediction, SETI@H and Rosetta@H , but I must admit I'm a bit confused as there are so many bio-chem projects: Rosetta, Folding@Home (the project running on PS 3 and advanced graphics cards as well), Docking@Home, .... One thing I want to avoid is to contribute to a project just to fill the pockets of someone who will later obtain patents on what the participants will have discoved. But I understabnd Rosetta is "not a commercial project", whatever that means.

Last night my other systems finished up their Einstein units and I've switched everything over to ClimatePrediction. At least for a few days so I can see how things work on the slower systems. I'm expecting an upgrade AMD X2 3800+ for the wife's system this week sometime and I may go 50/50 with Einstein so as to not break the chain of working for anymore than what a casual outage would be.
Mostly I'm hoping they get the problems fixed with the program so we return to a more efficent processing model.

Stay tuned, I'm sure the software will improve during the remainder of S5R2.
